FHF funds VND15 billion for eye care services

Update: 04-07-2011 | 00:00:00

The Australian Fred Hollows Foundation has provided VND15 billion for the “Vietnam-Australian Eye Care” project.

The project will be implemented in Que Son, Duy Xuyen, Hiep Duc, and Tien Phuoc districts of Quang Nam province beginning in July. It will offer free eye check-ups to thousands of pupils and free surgery for 8,000 people who suffer from cataracts.

The FHF has helped Quang Nam province carry out many eye care projects over the past years. An initial eye care system has been established and more than 8,500 people have so far been given free cataract surgery.
