Early December 10, provincial Fire Prevention and Rescue Steering Committee organized a fire-fighting and rescue rehearsal program in coordination with many provincial-level forces at provincial Administrative Center building in Thu Dau Mot city. The drill was attended by Mai Hung Dung, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee.
The drill was carried out based on a simulated situation that at 9:00 a.m. on December 10, 2023, a fire broke out in the car parking area in front of the entrance to the P2 floor of provincial Administrative Center building. The reason was that the car owner installed many additional electrical devices on the car, leading to an overload in the electrical system, causing a fire. The fire spread to cars and nearby technical areas. Under the impact of fire and smoke, toxic gases arose, obstructing visibility, making it difficult to access, organize and deploy firefighting and rescue, especially evacuation activities of officials, civil servants and public employees working on floors in the building, with the high risk of serious loss of lives of staff here if they did not promptly move to escape outside.
When the fire was detected, members of the building's Fire Prevention Team quickly shouted, alerted everyone and pressed the fire alarm while reporting the fire incident to the Building Management Board, the Building Fire Prevention and Rescue Steering Committee, provincial Police Agency’s Fire Prevention and Rescue Police and related units. After receiving news of the fire, the building's Fire Fighting and Rescue Steering Committee quickly deployed on-site fire fighting and rescue activities under the approved plan. After that, the firefighting and rescue forces were present at the scene and completely extinguished the fire.
The firefighting plan was implemented in 3 phases: Grassroots forces detected fire, deployed on-site firefighting forces and initial rescue. Firefighting and rescue forces received information and organized firefighting and rescue forces; rescue activities were ended and then all forces were mobilized to completely extinguish the fire.
