Firm stance from the waves of COVID-19 epidemic

During the 4th wave of COVID-19 epidemic, Bau Bang district was one of the localities of the province that was heavily affected. Successfully controlling the Covid-19 epidemic

2021 is a year full of difficulties and hardships for the health sector of the province in general and the health sector of Bau Bang district in particular. However, under the spirit of protecting the health and life of the people, the Party Committee, authorities, business community and each individual in Bau Bang district drastically implemented solutions to prevent and control the COVID-19 epidemic. Up to now, the district has basically controlled the COVID-19 epidemic in the community and returned to the "new normal"; production and business activities have been restored, and social security is ensured.

Bau Bang district clinic has both implemented COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control and ensured good care of public health

Doctor Mai Thi Kim Dung, Deputy Director of Bau Bang district Clinic, shared that in 2021, the provincial health sector in general and the Bau Bang district Clinic in particular have made great efforts for the common goal of controlling and gradually repelling the epidemic for the health and peace of the people. The COVID-19 epidemic was complicated with the ability to spread quickly and strongly in a short time, leading to times of overload and crisis in the district health system, and culminating in August and September with reception of about 11,000 quarantined and treated patients at the same time. Meanwhile, anti-epidemic work in the community such as testing, lockdown, quarantine, vaccination and instructions on COVID-19 prevention and control for companies to implement "3 on the spot" as decided by the unit.

Doctor Mai Thi Kim Dung recalled: “At that time, all medical staff and volunteers were mobilized to work dday and night, trying their best to promote their knowledge, understanding and skills to save the patients. The image of children born in the treatment area, elderly people over 90 years old with underlying diseases being recovered and discharged from the hospital makes the medical team even more motivated to work tirelessly and regardless of day and night."

Doctor Mai Thi Kim Dung added that 2021 was a very difficult year, but also a year with many memorable memories in the lives of medical professionals. The unit has received more than 200 medical staff and students from all parts of the country who volunteered to support the unit and nearly 300 volunteers to volunteer to serve in treatment areas, field hospitals, vaccination, and sampling in the community. Hundreds of benefactors and sponsors have come to the place to give medical equipment, medicine, masks, oxygen and food to the unit serving the patients. Experiencing the pandemic, through the days of accompanying COVID-19 patients, the "blouse soldiers" with a generous heart and abundant humanity sometimes even silent sacrifices with all his knowledge and ability to save the patients.

To fulfill public health care

Currently, the health sector of Bau Bang district is promoting a campaign to vaccinate against COVID-19 for people. Up to now, the district health sector has conducted safe injections for nearly 270,000 people aged 18 and over, of which the first dose reached 107.6%, the second shot 95% and the third shot more than 70%. “In order to achieve good results in disease prevention and control and COVID-19 vaccination, the district health center has received the attention and support from the provincial Party Committee, the provincial People's Committee and the support of medical staff from Department of Health, the direction of the district Steering Committee for COVID-19 prevention and control, and the close and synchronous coordination of agencies, departments and mass organizations in the implementation of preventive measures," said Doctor Mai Thi Kim Dung.

Along with the task of COVID-19 prevention and control, the district health sector has directed the health stations of communes and townships to well perform the task of providing primary health care for the people. The health sector has increased investment in facilities, infrastructure, equipment and modern machinery; at the same time, it focus on improving medical examination and treatment processes and procedures, increasing the application of information technology, creating favorable conditions for people from the stage of registration, examination and treatment to discharge procedures. The Center also focuses on attracting high-quality medical human resources; at the same time, they organize for medical staff to participate in training to improve their professional capacity. The industry also regularly checks and monitors the communication skills and behavior of medical staff to improve and ensure patient satisfaction.

Overcoming the difficulties and challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic with constant efforts and determination of solutions in the coming time, the district health sector has advised the district Party Committee and the district People's Committee to continue strengthening the leadership and direction of all levels of Party committees and organizations for the work of COVID-19 prevention and control and vaccination against COVID-19; to regularly organize the assessment, update and announcement of the epidemic level to take medical and administrative measures suitable to each level, each locality and on the smallest possible scale.

The medical center continues to direct mobile medical stations to maintain their tasks in localities in the "new normal" to serve the people's health care without disruption of medical services; to continue to promote efficiency and expand the mobile medical station model to bring healthcare closer to the people; thereby, performing well "adapting safely, flexibly, effectively controlling the COVID-19 epidemic" as stressed by Doctor Mai Thi Kim Dung.
