Firmly entering into the future

During the struggle for national liberation, socioeconomic development, national defense – security protection, under the leadership of the Party, Song Be – Binh Duong province has overcome all difficulties to obtain important achievements contributing to the whole country development. Following the glorious tradition, generations of cadres, Party members, people have kept building a civilized, prosperous Binh Duong province.

Solid premises

After the national unification, especially after nearly 20 years of re-establishment, Binh Duong province was a poor, war-ravaged province having poor infrastructure, and low economic starting point. Nevertheless, due to inheritance and promotion of accomplishments of former Song Be province; Party, army and people of Binh Duong province have continued the innovation, capacity promotion, creating an open, favorable investment environment. Focusing on industrial - service development to promote socioeconomic development, Binh Duong province has done well policies to spur investments, train human resources, improve people’s intellectual standards. Thanks to determination and strength aggregation, annually, the economy obtains high, stable growth, people’s material, spiritual life have been improved; political security, social order and safety have been maintained.

From an agricultural province, so far, the province has the highest speed of industrialization, urbanization, and international integration in southern area. End of 2014, although the overall economic situation remained difficult, Binh Duong province got positive results in the field of socioeconomic development. Economic growth rate increased 13% compared to 2013. The economic structure shifted positively with industry - service - agriculture proportion as follow: 60.8% - 36.2% - 3.0%.

Many major targets are achieved and exceeded, namely: GDP per capita reached VND61.2 million; total budget revenue reached VND32.000 billion, 8% over the same period. Foreign investment increased by $1.65 billion (over 65% of the 2014 plan and 3^rd-ranked nationwide); by the end of 2014, the province had 2,375 FDI projects worth $20.380 billion (5^th-ranked nationwide). Since the beginning of the term, Binh Duong has attracted $6.3 billion (over 26% of the whole term plan). Export turnover maintained good growth and surplus (surplus of over $4 billion). Binh Duong province has built 29 industrial parks with a total area of 10,000 ha, modern infrastructure meeting requirements of domestic and foreign investors.

Turning towards the future 

To create vast opportunities in the new period of development, building Binh Duong province to be an industrialized urban area in 2020, the Party and the government of the province invested in Industry – Services – Urban complex. In early 2014, the Integrated Political Administrative Center was inaugurated, which was an important milestone of the province in the development and international integration process. 

Approved by the Government, Binh Duong New City on an area of 1,000 ha will become a civilized, modern urban zone, and the central district of Binh Duong City directly under the Central by 2020. The formation and development of the Binh Duong New City and the Integrated Political Administrative Center speed up the local urbanization. Many important projects have been constructed in the new city, including project of high- class commercial apartment complex Sora Garden of Japanese Tokyu Corporation; high-tech park of Singapore's Mapletree; projects of international universities and primary schools…

Binh Duong province has initially performed well industrialization, modernization, bringing an agricultural, war-devastated province to become one leading brands in terms of economic development. Under the leadership of the unified, rational, dynamic, creative Party, in the near future, hopefully, Binh Duong would become a prosperous, civilized, friendly and modern city.
