First congress of provincial Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association opens

Early January 6, provincial Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association held its first congress for the 2018-2023 tenure. Attending the event were Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh, Vice-Chairwoman of provincial People’s Council; Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; leaders of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association, sectors, departments in the province.

The congress announced a decision on the establishment of the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association. The objectives of the association are to boost mutual understanding between people of Vietnam and Japan; promote cooperation, friendship between Binh Duong and localities in Japan…So far, the association has had 100 official members and 10 honorable ones.

The congress also selected an executive board of provincial Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association for the 2018-2023 tenure with 15 members. Huynh Thi Tuyet Hanh, member of provincial People’s Council’s Department of Social-Cultural Affairs was nominated as Chairwoman of the association. Delegates also approved the association’s resolutions and working programs for the 2018-2023 tenure.

Addressing the conference, Mr.Hung wanted that the association will contribute to strengthening cooperation and friendship between Binh Duong and localities in Japan. Members of the association need to raise high the spirit of responsibility, solidarity, flexibility and creativeness and successfully realize activities of the association…
