Fish stocking conducted to regenerate and develop in Can Nom lake

On the morning of September 26, Binh Duong provincial Division of Livestock, Veterinary and Fisheries organized the release of fish fingerlings to regenerate and develop aquatic resources on Can Nom Lake of Thanh An commune in Dau Tieng district.

The annually-organized program by the Division of Livestock, Veterinary and Fisheries is to protect and develop aquatic resources in the province. In 2023, the number of fish fingerlings released into the natural environment in Can Nom Lake is about 400 - 500 kg of various types such as pangasius, grass carp, bighead carp, carp and floating fish.

The fish stocking ceremony to regenerate aquatic resources aims to propagate and raise awareness and responsibility of the community in complying with fisheries laws and sustainable exploitation while preserving local biodiversity, on the other hand, to carry out restoration, regeneration and development of aquatic resources in natural areas, supplementing aquatic resources on Can Nom Lake, helping households around the water body who make a living by exploiting aquatic resources on the lake improve their lives.

This is also an activity to survey and evaluate the effectiveness of aquatic resource regeneration and grasp the situation of exploitation and fishing of people on Can Nom Lake in recent years. Thereby, the stocking of traditional aquatic species with high productivity and suitable for natural environmental conditions shall be regularly conducted.
