Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Fatherland Front Committee have solemnly held a get-together to celebrate the 47th anniversary of the South Liberation, National Unification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2022) and the 132^nd anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2022). The get-together took place when the Covid-19 pandemic in the province is under control, strongly recovering socio-economic development activities and making efforts in emulating and setting up achievements in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Binh Duong's construction and development.

Heroic tradition

In the warm, emotional and proud atmosphere of the get-together, Vo Van Minh, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Committee reviewed the historical stages of the struggle for national liberation and unification. The speech of provincial People's Committee Chairman emphasized: Our nation's history of thousands of years associated with wars to defend the country has forged the spirit of self-control together indomitable will, helping the Vietnamese nation make resounding victories in fighting foreign invaders and defending the country.

The success of August Revolution in 1945 brought our people from being slaves to becoming the owners of a sovereign country. Not long ago, the Democratic Republic of Vietnam was established, our people continued entering the long-term resistance war and won victory against French colonialists, completely defeating the new colonial war of the American empire. On April 30, 1975, the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign won completely. The South and the whole country were filled with red in celebration of the great festival - The great victory day of the whole nation, proving the great stature of Vietnamese people’s intelligence and spirit in the Ho Chi Minh era under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Together with the soldiers and people of the South and the whole country, despite being subjected to barbaric and brutal oppression, with a strong and indomitable will, and a firm belief in the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, in the cause of national unification, Binh Duong's army and people under the leadership of provincial Party Committee fought bravely and achieved many resounding victories; made valuable contributions to Vietnamese military art. Those feats contributed to breaking and smashing the will of the US imperialists’ invasion, changing the situation of the battlefield. During the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign, the army and people of Thu Dau Mot rose up and completely defeated the puppet forces, smashed the puppet government apparatus and liberated the homeland, contributing to paving the way for our main troops on the offensive direction in the north of Saigon from Binh Duong to quickly attack the last stronghold of the puppet regime, successfully ending the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign, liberating the South, reunifying the country, ending 21 years of the resistance war against the US, 30 years of the fight for national liberation.

With great contributions to the cause of the resistance against the US for national independence and freedom, the Party Committee, army and people of Thu Dau Mot-Binh Duong were honored to be awarded the title of "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" by the Party and State” in 1976.

Towards comprehensive development

The get-together is even more meaningful when the province has successfully organized a scientific workshop on "Following tradition, Binh Duong province with a quarter-century journey: Achievements and prospects". The workshop was an opportunity for the Party Committee, authorities and people of Binh Duong province to express their gratitude to their ancestors who worked hard to build, preserve and constantly cultivate the tradition of solidarity, dynamism, creativity and gratitude of the people of Song Be - Binh Duong. This was also an opportunity for domestic and foreign scientists, researchers, experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, managers to have research works and articles with multi-dimensional perspectives to participate in reviewing the overall development results of Binh Duong over the past 25 years; thereby learning from valuable experience and contributing to shaping the development path of Binh Duong province during the new period. “Looking back at the 47-year journey after liberation and following the tradition, the 25-year journey of separation from Song Be province, Binh Duong province has been growing strongly from a locality with a low starting point in economy. The province has become a developing province with high speed of industrialization and urbanization in the southern key economic region, creating many imprints in socio-economic development, raising the material and spiritual lives of the people and the people can reach a full and happy life... ", emphasized Comrade Vo Van Minh's speech.

Assessing the advantages, opportunities as well as challenges in the coming time, comrade Vo Van Minh stated a number of key tasks, including focusing on Covid-19 prevention and control, effectively implementing the local planning for the period of 2021-2030 with a vision to 2050; effectively carrying out Party building; continue implementing central resolutions, conclusions and directives, especially the conclusions of the 4th Plenum of the 13th Party Central Committee on accelerating Party building and rectification; focusing on directing and administering drastically, ensuring that the guidelines, tasks and solutions for the province's socio-economic recovery and development are implemented quickly and synchronously; ensuring workers' lives and jobs, further creating conditions and opportunities for each citizen to create a better and better life; firmly maintaining national defense - security; well implementing measures against crimes and social evils, strengthening external events, promoting Binh Duong's image, brand and development potential...towards the goal of creating important changes in both quantity and quality, both in awareness and action in all fields of society-economy, national defense - security, foreign affairs, Party building…

Appreciating the great merits of generations of leaders, cadres, Party members, people from all strata and the business community to the development of Binh Duong province today, comrade Vo Van Minh affirmed: With the deep belief in the wise leadership of the Party, with the tradition of indomitability full of creativity, knowing how to uphold the strength of solidarity, the advantages of the local position in the resistance war, in construction and in the face of renewal requirements and for the success of the province's development process, provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Fatherland Front Committee fully believe that the whole political system and all comrades, compatriots, cadres, soldiers and people from all strata in the province will continue uniting closely, working together to overcome all challenges in order to obtain higher achievements, helping Binh Duong develop faster, more comprehensively, more sustainably, soon complete the goals and tasks of the Resolution of the 11^th provincial Party Congress and the Resolution of the 13^th national Party Congress.

At the get-together, provincial leaders awarded the second-class Labor Medal of the State President to Nguyen Thi Le Trinh, Chairwoman of provincial Red Cross Society; the third-class Labor Medal of the State President to provincial Farmers' Association for outstanding achievements in the 2016-2020 period, contributing to the cause of socialism building and national defense. On this occasion, provincial Party Standing Committee awarded the 30 to 75-year Party membership insignia to 263 Party members. This is the recognition of the Party for the dedication of comrades to the cause of national liberation, reunification, national construction-defense and the development of Song Be province - Binh Duong in particular.
