Football tournament for ethnic minority youths

The nine-day event, jointly organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and Kon Tumwill feature 140 players from the five Central Highland provinces of Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, and Lam Dong, as well as the two neighbouring provinces of Atapeu (Laos) and Rattanakiri (Cambodia).

The competition’s initial round robin format will be used to select the best four teams for the semi-finals.

The first match between Kon Tum and Atapeu followed the tournament’s opening ceremony.

The tournament is part of cultural and sport events marking the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Kon Tum province (February 9)

It is also a good opportunity to strengthen solidarity between ethnic minority groups and promote exchange among Indochinese countries.
