Chau Hong Nga, Vice-Chairwoman of Di An town’s Fatherland Front Committee (FFC) said that under the project, the town’s FFC over time teamed up with mass organizations to propagandize and raise awareness of people from all strata about the reasons and harmful effects of environmental pollution and climate change; encourage production with clean technologies, energy saving, advanced waste management systems…

Particularly, Di An town’s FFC coordinated with the town’s Division of Judiciary to organize a conference to extend legal documents regarding environmental protection, including the Decree No.80/2006ND-CP detailing and guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on environmental Protection, the Decree No.81/2006/ND-CP regulating administrative punishment to breaches in the field of environmental protection, the Decree No.212008/ND amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Government's Decree No. 80/2006/ND-CP…, to its affiliates.  

The town’s FFC also kicked off a competition for outstanding FFC cadres in association with the campaign of “The entire people consolidate to build up a cultural lifestyle in residential areas”. As a result, there were 35,029 households, all 41 quarters and 1,068 lodging facilities registering for the titles of “cultural household”, “cultural quarter” and “cultural lodging facility”.

Self-management group on environmental hygiene was one of the highlight models of “Joining hands in environmental protection” project over the past time. For one year alone, additional self-management groups on environmental hygiene were set up, bringing the total number of such groups to 36 with 1,951 members. These groups actively contributed to keeping the local environmental hygiene.

In general, the “Joining hands in environmental protection” project brought a lot of initial results. To Mrs.Nga, the town’s FFC will further propagandize and promote the establishment of self-management groups on environmental hygiene while improving the quality of the groups for better results.

The town’s FFC will also team up with relevant agencies to organize training courses on knowledge of environmental protection to raise FFC cadres and members’ awareness and skills of propagandizing and mobilizing the local people to obey regulations on environmental protection... Also according to Mrs.Nga, diversifying propaganda activities aims to help environmental protection become an important task, contributing to building up a green-clean and beautiful Di An.
