A get together for former Vietnamese workers, who were sent to Germany in the cooperative labour programme between the two countries 25 years ago, was held in Cottbus city, Germany on April 8.
Nguyen The Hung, Chairman of the Vietnamese Community in Cottbus and the neighbouring areas, thanked the local authorities and people for their support to the community.
Cottbus Deputy Mayor Lothar Nicht praised the community’s contribution to the city and hailed the Vietnamese youth for their industrious learning spirit. He expressed his hope that more Vietnamese people will visit and live in the city.
Phan Y Nhi, Vietnamese Counselor to Germany, said she was pleased with the community’s practical in supporting the Embassy’s people to people diplomacy.
She encouraged the community to teach Vietnamese for the second and third generations of Vietnamese people.
