Fourth provincial congress of ethnic minorities affirms role, contributions by ethnic minorities to local development
Early December 8, the 4th provincial congress of ethnic minorities and the 2024 conference for exemplary role-models in production-business and cultural, artistic and sports exchange activities officially took place in Dau Tieng district. Attendees included Nong Thi Ha, Deputy Minister, Vice Chairwoman of the Ethnic Affairs Committee; Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Thi My Hang, Head of provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Department, along with representatives from various departments, sectors, localities and nearly 250 outstanding delegates representing over 24,000 ethnic minority people in the province.
Carrying out ethnic affairs effectively
At any stage, our Party and State have always identified ethnic affairs and national unity as extremely important matters with long-term strategic significance, thereby focusing on leadership, direction and organization of the implementation with the highest political determination and utmost responsibility. The organization of the congresses of ethnic minorities at all levels towards the National Congress of Ethnic Minorities is an event of profound political and social significance, serving as a special symbol of the great national unity.
Delegates visit small camps of districts and cities in the congress space
Joining in the enthusiastic spirit of ethnic minority people across the country, Binh Duong province organized the 4th congress of ethnic minorities and the conference on exemplary role-models in production and business; cultural, artistic and sports exchange activities of ethnic minorities in 2024. The event aimed at assessing achievements done, outlining guidelines and policies, determining directions and tasks for ethnic affairs in the coming period while honoring and acknowledging positive contributions by ethnic minorities in production and business, inspiring self-reliance and resilience and strengthening solidarity among ethnic minority communities in the province.
Over the past time, along with their efforts in developing homebased economic models and raising their children, ethnic minority communities in the province actively participated in community activities, contributing to building the local political system and consistently upholding the spirit of solidarity and mutual support within the community of ethnic groups. Their contributions contributed to strengthening and promoting the great national unity bloc across the province.
To effectively implement ethnic affairs, Binh Duong province has issued numerous resolutions, programs and plans, translating them into mechanisms and policies aimed at stabilizing production, reducing poverty sustainably, and gradually improving the material and spiritual lives of the people, especially those in remote and disadvantaged areas...In addition, the efforts by ethnic minority communities in rising up have contributed to Binh Duong’s significant achievements in all fields, including ethnic affairs, poverty reduction, rural development and the building of a qualified workforce of ethnic minority officials and civil servants.
Over the past time, many patriotic emulation movements were launched by all-level Party committees, authorities, Fatherland Front committees and mass organizations of the province, attracting widespread participation from ethnic minority communities. The local ethnic minority people actively responded to the campaign of "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and lifestyle", the movements of "Helping each other in economic development and poverty Reduction", "Building cultural lifestyle" and "Building new-style rural areas". Many respected figures in the community become shining examples of national unity, leading in implementing the Party's guidelines, State policies and laws, guiding and assisting people in production, increasing income and creating legitimate wealth for themselves, their families and society.

Speaking at the congress, on behalf of provincial leaders, Nguyen Loc Ha, Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee acknowledged and praised achievements done by all-level Party committees, authorities, mass organizations and ethnic minority communities of the province in ethnic affairs in general and during the 2019-2024 term in particular.

To further enhance achievements done and improve the implementation of ethnic affairs and policies in the province, Mr. Ha recommended that all-level Party committees, authorities, Fatherland Front committees and mass organizations of the province should further strengthen leadership while promoting the role of the political system in carrying out ethnic affairs. He emphasized the need to closely integrate socio-economic development with ensuring national defense-security and promote patriotic emulation movements in ethnic minority regions and among people from all strata. Additionally, he called for the continued innovation of contents and methods for implementing ethnic affairs in line with new requirements and tasks in the current situation.
The local ethnic minority people, especially outstanding delegates representing 28 ethnic groups attending the congress, will spread the spirit of national unity to new heights. They will also inspire and connect ethnic minority communities with the entire political system and people of the province, working together with solidarity and determination to realize the aspiration of transforming Binh Duong into a smart, civilized, modern and affectionate city under the central management in the coming time.
