Fourth Student Sports festival begins

This year’s festival includes the VTC Cup Audition 2 football tournament, which opened the same day, with the host Bach Khoa team playing the squad from Haiphong University.

At the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Tran Quang Quy stressed the importance of the sports festival, held every four years, in assessing the quality of physical education as well as boosting sports practice and competition at each college or university.

The event also provides a good opportunity for Vietnamese students to learn from each other and update themselves on student sports development in the region and the world.

Nguyen Kha Dan, an official from VTC Media Corporation which has sponsored the football tournament four times, said the VTC Cup Audition 2 helps accelerate football and sports activities among students.

The tournament has been held in HCM City, Nghe An, and Danang.
