Free swimming class for needy children in Dau Tieng concludes

Early July 29, Dau Tieng district’s Division of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affair (DoLISA) held the closing ceremony of a free swimming class for the local children with extremely difficult circumstances.

During the one-month training course, nearly 80 local children with difficulties were equipped with basic knowledge on waterways and had a chance to practice swimming skills.

The class was co-held by the district’s DoLISA and Dau Tieng Rubber One-Member Co.Ltd.’s Center for Culture and Sports with the goal of helping children prevent drowning by themsevles. This was the first swimming class organized by the district, absorbing a large number of the local children.

It is known that one of main reasons leading to the situation of child drowning in Dau Tieng district over the past time was the lack of knowledge in swimming. Hence, organizing swimming classes for the local children is very necessary.
