Update: 16-09-2023 | 14:13:08

Colorful cake boxes appearing more and more on motorbikes after work are definitely bringing joy to families of workers in Mid-Autumn Festival which is also an opportunity for business leaders to send their love and express gratitude for the contributions and commitment of workers to their businesses.

The loving cakes

Having just received a moon cake from the company union, Phan Thi Nga of Fabtek Co. Ltd. in Khanh Binh ward of Tan Uyen city, said: "The Mid-Autumn Festival is important event where workers as everyone having family and relatives, especially for children look forward to every day since the first days of August. Every day as a mother I come home from work, my two children run out to greet me without forgeting to look at the vehicle and ask for any distributed cakes yet. The other day, we received a cake from the union. We were in great happiness to cut the cake and eat it immediately with praising it for its deliciousness. More than 300 trade union members in my company received cakes, and everyone was happy."

Mid-Autumn Festival is also an opportunity for business leaders to convey affection, sharing, and connection with workers. As the matter of fact, many businesses in the province have implemented a program to give Mid-Autumn Festival gifts to employees since the early days of August. In Tan Uyen city, many businesses organize events to give away moon cakes along with other welfare benefits to workers. Y Asia Door Industry Co. Ltd. has recently donated cakes along with an envelope of VND 100,000 a worker as an example. Workers at Teamade Statioery Co. Ltd. also received the gifts which were actually coordinated by the grassroots union of Phuoc Hiep Thanh Packaging Co. Ltd. with the company's Board of Directors to donate cakes, rice, and necessities with an envelope of VND 200,000 a worker.

Le Nam Son, a worker at Phuoc Hiep Thanh Packaging Co. Ltd. in Khanh Binh ward, said: "In addition to major holidays, the Mid-Autumn Festival at my company is always given thoughtful attention by leaders to employees. I don't have a family yet, so every year I send a box of moon cakes back to my hometown to my parents who are very happy because that box of cakes contains so much love and filial piety from their child being far away from home."

For companies with a workforce of up to thousands of people such as Thuong Thong Shoes Co. Ltd. in Thuan An city, Yazaki EDS Co. Ltd. in Di An city, Shang Hung Cheng Co. Ltd. in Thuan An City and many others, besides distributing gifts such as moon cakes and lanterns, people also organize the Full Moon Festival for children of workers. Scancom Company Limited in Di An city annually organizes a full moon festival for children of workers through activities such as a mid-autumn lantern making contest, lion and dragon performances, and cultural performances. Showa Gloves Vietnam Co. Ltd. in Thuan An city organizes fun activities for children such as painting competitions, dancing, singing etc. to add more meaning to the full moon festival.

Diverse caring activities

In order for all children of workers in the area to have a Mid-Autumn Festival, every year grassroots unions, businesses, and trade union organizations in the province have meaningful programs for them. Huynh Van Chu, Director of Mineral Packaging Joint Stock Company No. 1 in Thuan An city, said: "Salaries may be slow due, but moon cakes for the children are a must. I know that this year many businesses in the area are facing difficulties, but during the Mid-Autumn Festival, a box of cakes of several hundred thousand VND for the children of workers is a responsibility that business leaders must take care of. For our company, since the beginning of August, the grassroots union has done this. If it is accompanied by other fun activities for children, it is even better."

At trade union levels in the province, in recent days there have been many activities such as giving cakes and visiting workers in difficult circumstances. Recently, the Trade Union of Ben Cat town organized a delegation to encourage, visit and give more than 150 gifts with an amount of more than VND 30 million to workers and their children in difficult circumstances at Osco Vietnam Co. Ltd. in Phu An commune, Little Star Kindergarten under the provincial Youth Workers and Young Labor Support Center in My Phuoc 3 Industrial Park, Kindergarten 28-7 in My Phuoc ward. Le Nguyen Thanh Binh, Chairman of Ben Cat Town Trade Union, said: "The gifts are small but very meaningful, showing the care and sharing of all levels with workers in difficult circumstances, providing more motivation for workers to stay with their work. We will continue to review the number of children of workers in difficult circumstances as well as mobilize socialization to have more meaningful gifts for them in the coming days."

Ong Thuy Hoang Mai, Vice President of the provincial Trade Union, said that taking care of the Mid-Autumn Festival or activities at the beginning of the new school year has become an annual activity that trade unions at all levels in the province must carry out. Along with that, the provincial Trade Union mobilized grassroots unions and socialization sources to bring children of workers a warm, full-moon festival season filled with love.
