Further upholding the role of enterprises, entrepreneurs in the local development process

On the afternoon of October 12, provincial People’s Committee held a get-together celebrating Vietnam Entrepreneurs’ Day (October 13), honoring outstanding entrepreneurs, farm owners in 2016 while organizing the 2^nd investment licenses-granting stage of 2016 at provincial Convention-Exhibition Center. Attending the event were Pham Van Canh, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Council; Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; members of provincial Party Standing Committee, leaders of provincial Party Committee, sectors, units and localities; outstanding enterprises, entrepreneurs, farm owners in 2016 and investors in the province.

Enterprises, entrepreneurs with venturesome spirit

After 30 years of national renewal and nearly 20 years of provincial reestablishment, under the sound leadership of provincial Party Committee and People’s Committee, enterprises and entrepreneurs in the province have reached a vigorous pace in both quality and quantity, contributing to rapidly changing the local image.

12 years since establishment of Vietnam Entreprenuers’Day, entrepreneurs in Vietnam in general and in Binh Duong in particular have constantly grown up, affirming their role in the cause of national construction. The whole province has to date absorbed 24,591 domestic investment projects with total registered capital of more than VND181trillion and 2,789 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects capitalized at more than US$25/27billion.

Along with great contributions to the local socio-economic development, enterprises and entrepreneurs herein have actively got involved in social charity activities, contributing to effectively realizing the local poverty reduction task, ensuring social welfare.

Addressing the get-together, Mr.Liem stressed that Binh Duong’s achievements over the past time came from the integral efforts by the local Party, government and people, especially great contributions by flexible enterprises, entrepreneurs with a venturesome spirit. He also affirmed that provincial leaders have always acknowledged and highly appreciated their significant contributions to the local development…

Further absorbing investors

Binh Duong has made efforts in building up an equal, transparent and open investment climate for investors, helping them feel secure when investing herein.

Over the past nine months, the whole province absorbed more than US$1.62billion in FDI capital, or 118.2% of the year’s plan and up 7.4% compared to last year’s corresponding period. According to the assessment of provincial People’s Committee, large-scale projects pouring into the province during the period were in line with the local investment attraction orientations and industrial development plan. Noticeably, most FDI projects in the province flow into industrial parks and compounds.

Also at the get-together, provincial People’s Committee granted licenses to 15 domestic and foreign enterprises with total investment capital of more than VND9.48trillion and more than US$315.5million. Mr.Liem sent congratulations to these enterprises while asking for the local sectors, authorities at all levels to focus on removing enterprises’ difficulties, facilitating their production and business. Especially, they need to create favorable conditions for enterprises to well tap all existing resources for their thriving and the local sustainable development.

He also suggested enterprises and entrepreneurs to take initiative in production-business; opportunely reflect their queries for proper support from the local Party and government; boost production-business activities as well as well obeying the Party and State’s laws and policies; actively engage activities in environmental protection and well realize policies on social welfare; take good care of employees’ lives; continue making contributions to the cause of national development and integration…According to him, the province has always attached special importance to building up qualified entrepreneurs who are responsible for the society and always manage to uphold their advantages for higher results during the journey of wining challenges in the period of international economic integration…

On this occasion, provincial People’s Committee honored 205 local outstanding entrepreneurs and farm owners in 2016. The Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank)’s Binh Duong branch also presented 1 ambulance to provincial General Hospital and 12 gratitude houses worth VND720million to policy beneficiary families.
