Remember the golden memories forever

Coming to Cau Ngang area (Thuan An City) these days, visitors may easily feel the festive atmosphere spreading. Local gardeners are also bustling with joy when the fruit is ripening, welcoming tourists from near and far. Sharing with us about the joy of being immersed in this year's festive atmosphere, Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh (Thanh Quy neighborhood, An Thanh ward), said her family has nearly 4 hectares of garden and every year they look forward to three months of summer. Because, after a year of hard work taking care of the trees, fertilizing, weeding, and clearing ditches twice a day, fruit trees in her garden are ripening for harvest.

In Ms. Hoang Anh's childhood memories, about 30 years ago, every summer came, fruits in the garden, such as: durian, mangosteen, jackfruit, rambutan, yellow langsat... got ripe in the garden; While the adults harvest, she and her brothers were assigned to watch the garden and guide visitors. Tourists from all over flocked to the garden, so almost every day was as fun as a festival. Some orchards nearby also had restaurants, where diners enjoyed fragrant dishes, talked and laughed very happily.

In recent years, Ms. Hoang Anh and her family have been excited as participating in fruit stalls at the Ripe Fruit Season Festival area and provided fruit to surrounding shops. This is also an opportunity for her family to interact, learn, exchange and share experience in planting and caring for gardens, join hands to build and develop local eco-tourism; At the same time, introducing quality fruits to tourists.

According to Nguyen Van Doi, owner of Orchard 99 (Hung Dinh ward, Thuan An city), last year mangosteen had a good harvest, the garden was very fruitful, their restaurant was so crowded with customers coming to enjoy the fruits and rural dished, so his whole family was very busy and happy. According to this farmer who owns nearly 500 mangosteen trees with an average age of 50-60 years old, customers from Hanoi, Quang Ninh, the Central region, the West and abroad, customers from districts and cities in the province, all loves local fruit specialties and unique rural dishes here. Therefore, being able to serve tourists everywhere is also a joy and a motivation for him and his family to stick with his orchard.

Maintain the reputation of Lai Thieu orchards

Nguyen Van Doi, said that due to negative influence of the weather, this year despite good care, the fruit yield was only about 30% compared to last year. However, Orchard 99’s restaurant maintains the same selling price as last year and preserve the flavor of famous rural dishes of Lai Thieu land, such as: mangosteen chicken salad, grilled durian chicken, grilled quail with durian, wood-grilled snakehead fish with mangosteen...

Leaving Orchard 99, we stopped by Hong Van Garden (Hung Dinh ward) a few dozen meters away. Welcoming us with a joyful expression, Nguyen Kim Huong, owner of Hong Van Garden, said that before the summer, the family had repaired their huts with hammocks, tables and chairs, fans, electrical sockets... in their garden so that guests can visit, pick fruit, and enjoy fruit specialties. In addition, this garden also invests in decorative backdrops, colorful and beautiful pinwheels... for groups to hold parties in the garden.

According to Ly Binh Son, Chairman of Hung Dinh Ward People's Committee, in order to continue to create a good impression in the hearts of visitors to the Ripe Fruit Season Festival 2024, Hung Dinh Ward People's Committee has implemented many forms of propaganda to let people know about the purpose, meaning, and content of the festival, thereby encouraging gardeners to participate in promoting orchard tourism, respond to festival activities, and express the spirit of hospitality, civilized and polite behavior. Up to now, people and orchard owners have the opportunity to participate in business locations as a basis for connecting tours to ensure the sale of fruit at the right weight, at the listed price, without solicitation or overcharging. Besides, the locality prevents and handles the situation of raising selling prices and troubling tourists.

To meet the sightseeing and viewing needs of tourists, creating a beautiful impression in the hearts of tourists when coming to this year's festival, gardeners in Binh Nham, Hung Dinh, An Thanh wards, and An Son communes of Thuan An City cleaned orchards, decorated shops and restaurants more spaciously and beautifully, and menus have a fully listed price list. Authorities and garden owners in the city have joined hands to build a friendly and hospitable image of this year's festival.
