Early October 2, Deputy Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Huynh Van Nhi host a meeting to listen to reports of Department of Health on results of the general campaign of cleaning up the environment and communication for prevention and fighting dengue and hand foot and mouth disease outbreaks across the province. As evaluated by the steering board, all the localities have mobilized forces in two stages of August 18-19 and August 25-26 with participation of 2,522 house visiting groups who helped to give out leaflets guiding people to exterminate mosquito larvae and to take care of children.Meantime, 1,354 groups have mobilized the public to clean up the environment by removing brushes, dredging drains, and covering bound ponds as well as destroying materials containing rain water.As a result, in two weeks, dengue cases have been reduced by 42.1% while hand foot and mouth disease by 21.7% without any dead.Reported by T.Phuong – Translated by Vi Bao
