Get-together celebrates the 72nd anniversary of August Revolution and National Day

On the morning of August 25, provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnamese Fatherland Front of Binh Duong province solemnly held a get-together to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of August Revolution (19.8.1945 - 19.8.2017) and National Day (2.9.1945 - 2.9.2017)of Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Attending the meeting were Vietnamese heroic mothers, armed forces heroes, Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet - former Politburo member, former State President; Mr. Tran Van Nam - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Head of Provincial National Assembly Delegation; former provincial leaders, leaders of departments, districts, towns, and city, armed units in the province.

Mr. Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, stressed that 72 years had passed, but the invaluable lesson that the August Revolution and the spirit of the Independence Declaration had been proved; contained the immortal content and the burning aspirations of progressive humanity; had historical value to Vietnamese people. The success of the August Revolution in 1945 has historically important significance, brought about a comprehensive change for both the people and the nation. From a colonial state to an independent nation, Vietnamese people had escaped from slavery.

"The great victory of the August Revolution was the victory of patriotism and the great solidarity of the whole people; is the victory of the right revolutionary line under the ingenious leadership of the Party led by President Ho Chi Minh. It is an invaluable historical lesson that has become a source of inspiration for the entire people and our troops to carry out the long and arduous resistance war of the next 30 years, defeating the foreign invaders; set up the glorious feat that culminated in the victory of the history of Dien Bien Phu in 1954 and the spring victory in 1975, the liberation of the South, reunification of the country, bringing the country up to socialism...", affirmed Mr. Tran Thanh Liem.

In his speech, Mr. Tran Thanh Liem was proud of the great contribution of the Party with the army and the people of the province in the success of August Revolution 1945. Mr. Tran Thanh Liem emphasized, together with all people throughout the country, the revolutionary movement in Thu Dau Mot flourished and widespread, pushing the enemy into the siege, isolation. Taking this opportunity, provincial Party Committee instructed party members, unions, self defense units, called on compatriots to join forces to overthrow the government and win the glorious victory.

Promoting the victory spirit of August Revolution and the two long-term resistance wars against colonialism and imperialism, Party Committee and people of Song Be - Binh Duong continued writing the history with many new victories in terms of socio-economic development; brought Song Be - Binh Duong from the war fierce battlefield with addresses associated legendary victories to a land of exploits in socio-economic development. Achievements of the Party, Government and people of Song Be - Binh Duong Province, especially achievements after 20 years of development, have helped to bring Binh Duong from a poor province to an industrially dynamic province in the southern key economic region, a modern industrial-urban center that is on the path to a smart city.

At the meeting, Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee conferred the State honorary medal of Vietnamese Heroic Mother on Mother Nguyen Thi Xien in Tan Vinh Hiep Commune, Tan Uyen Town. On this occasion, Provincial Party Committee also awarded 45- and 50-Party-seniority medals to 450 party members.

Before that, in the morning, leaders of Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; heads of departments, armed forces and people in the province visited, wreathed and burnt incense to commemorate heroic martyrs at provincial martyr's cemetery.
