On the 101st anniversary of the International Women’s Day, provincial Society for the Blind, on March 4, held a get-together for outstanding female officials and members, reviewed the activities of its board for blind women’s affairs and devised orientations for 2011.

As of late 2010, the whole society had 416 female members. The society last year teamed up with the local mass organizations to take good care of the lives of female members, helping them become confident to integrate into the community. Particularly, the society helped 74 blind women get VND421mln in loan to develop homebased business; cooperated with the local Fatherland Front Committee and donors to build 4 unity houses worth VND90mln for needy blind women; provided unscheduled allowance of nearly VND19mln for others. There were also 100% of blind women enjoying the State’s regular allowances and granted health insurance cards…

On this occasion, 45 outstanding blind women were also presented VND200,000 and a gift each from provincial Society for the Blind, Hong Thao Enterprise and Bao Minh Insurance Company.
