Get-together to mark the 75th anniversary of Vietnamese Red Cross establishment

In the afternoon of November 23, Binh Duong provincial Red Cross held a meeting to celebrate the 75th founding anniversary of the Vietnamese Red Cross (November 23, 1946 to November 23, 2021). Attending the event was Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thao, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Mr. Nguyen Van Loc, Standing Member, Head of the provincial Committee for Mass Mobilization and Chairman of the provincial Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee, leaders of provincial departments and agencies and all officers, civil servants and officials of the provincial Red Cross.

At the meeting, the delegates reviewed the 75-year tradition of establishment and development of the Vietnamese Red Cross. Upholding the tradition, over the years, the Red Cross at all levels in the province have well promoted the key role and connect the humanitarian activities. Movements and activities implemented by the Red Cross have become more and more effective and deepened to attract a large number of people from all walks of life to join hands in implementing the social and humanitarian policies of the Party and State. From 2016-2021, the total value of social and humanitarian work has been over VND 450.6 billion to help over 1.8 million people. By its practical and effective activities, in the past time, the Red Cross at all levels in the province have shown the pivotal role connecting charity and humanitarian activities and ready to be present in a timely manner in the most difficult time beside the poor and the disadvantaged in society to well perform the noble humanitarian missions entrusted by the Party and the State.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thao recognized and appreciated the contributions and praised the outstanding achievements that the Associations at all levels, officials, members and volunteers of the Red Cross in the province have made and achieved in humanitarian activities in recent years. With the goal of "all for the noble cause of humanity and for the happiness of the people", he believes that the Red Cross in the province will continue to develop further in the coming time by giving good play to its pivotal role being a bridge in humanitarian and charity activities and helping the poor and vulnerable to reduce difficulties in life to actively contribute to the good implementation of the province's social security policies.
