Giant mushroom uncovered in Binh Duong

Being informed by Nguyen Ngoc Tu about a rare giant mushroom in Lai Thieu, Thuan An, reporters of Binh Duong Newspaper came to house number 15, Lot B5, Dong Tu, Lai Thieu to clarify the information.

“We were on a morning walk and discovered a big block of white color in the bush. My younger sister was persisted that it was a hat leaving behind by someone; however it was a giant mushroom. And, we took it home,” said Mrs. Truong Anh Dao about her morning exercise with her younger sister.

The mushroom (in photo) is of 50cm high with 50cm-wide top and weighs 3.5kg. An un-named elder, who is now 90, confirms that he has never seen such a big mushroom which he calls ‘pig hide’ mushroom. Currently, the mushroom is kept by Mrs. Truong Anh Dao who agrees to share the mushroom for exhibition and lab tests.
