Annually, as entering a new school year, activities giving strength to go to school happen every where across the province. And it becomes heftier when the new school year is going to begin, helping disadvantaged pupils to be more confident to go to school.Provincial Disabled – Orphan – Poor patient Sponsorial Association (DOPPSA), Buddhist Association have recently persuaded Buddhists, Thanh Le Trading Import Export Company, Phuoc Hoa Rubber JSC, HCM City Vietcombank, Binh Duong BIDV bank, M&C, Asama, Genimex Binh Duong Company to organize this meaningful philanthropic activity. 120 scholarships worth VND1 mln each and 216 bicycles worth VND1.2 mln each were given to provincial disadvantaged pupils. In addition, more than 400 gifts including moon cakes, books, and instant noodles from sponsors were also offered to these children.Being at this event, 7th-grade pupil Le Tai Hieu of Nguyen Binh Khiem secondary school (Dau Tieng district) said happily: “I don’t have father, is just living with my mother and she has to work hard so that I can go to school. Although I’m a good pupil but I’m always afraid of leaving school. With these cash and gifts, my mother will be so happy”.8th-grade pupils Nguyen Thanh Thuy of Thanh An secondary school (Dau Tieng district) has 2 siblings. Her mother is a housewife. The family lives off her father trading bamboos. Thus having enough clothes, books for this new school year is a difficult thing. DOPPSA Chairman Mr. Nguyen Van Nam said: “We always appreciate contributions of benefactors. One million VND is not much, but can help partly these pupils with difficulties. A new bicycle is also a dream of every poor pupil so that they can go to school more conveniently”.120 disadvantaged pupils with good learning results were heart-warming as receiving scholarships rewarded by Binh Duong Electricity Compnay Union branch. 7th-grade Le Thi Huong of Hieu Liem secondary shool (Tan Uyen district) said with tears in her eyes: “I have received many gifts like this since preparation for the new school year. Therefore, I have enough books and clothes for school”. Her father died 3 years ago because of a traffic accident when her younger sister was only several months old. Her mother has had to work hard to bring up a 3-person family. Huong has to both go to school and take care of her sister.At the present, despite difficult economic condition, many provincial banks have offered scholarships to pupils. As planning, from now until September 21st, Techcombank will conferred 50 scholarships worth VND1 mln each upon studious disadvantaged pupils at TDM City, Thuan An, Di An and Ben Cat.The Study Promotion Association is a familiar address to provincial poor pupils. The Association gives annually thousands of scholarships to pupils. Chairman Nguyen Xuan Vinh said, every year, the Study Promotion Association receives contributions from social economic organizations to help pupils to continue learning. Binh Duong Minerals and Construction JSC, Lawrence S.Ting Fund sponsor annually, and in this September, they will confer 100 scholarships worth from VND800,000 to VND1.5 mln each on pupils.Benefactors also make contributions at many schools. Le Quy Don secondary school Principal Nguyen Kim Truong said, their school had a large learning promoting fund sponsored VND250 mln annually by parents. The school also donates their bonus of uniform to giving each good poor pupil 2 uniforms, 1 fitness clothes and 20 notebooks.Khanh Binh primary and secondary school, which has over 50% pupils of poor migrant workers, is supported and sponsored by learning promoting funds, parents and benefactors. Funds for health insurance, accident insurance of pupils are also sponsored.
