Gold prices recover

Update: 25-01-2011 | 00:00:00

Domestic gold prices rose by VND100,000 per tael on January 24. Many businesses increased gold buying prices to reduce the differences between selling and buying prices of domestic gold.

Sacombank’s SBJ gold prices hovered around VND35.35-35.43 million (buying-selling), an increase of VND70,000-100,000 per tael over the previous week.

Sacombank predicted domestic gold prices will closely follow the world’s prices, leading to weak liquidity of domestic gold.

At the same time, SJC gold in Ho Chi Minh City was bought at VND35.35 million per tael and sold for VND35.41 million, an increase of VND100,000 and VND50,000 respectively.

In Hanoi, the selling prices were higher at VND35.43 million per tael. Thang Long gold of the Bao Tin Minh Chau gold, silver and precious stone company was bought at VND35.35 million and sold for VND35.45 million per tael.
