In recent years, the movement of "good workers and creative workers" has gained significant momentum in workshops and factories. This movement has become a driving force that enables workers to showcase their creative talents. As a result, thousands of initiatives and technical improvements have been recognized, contributing to enhanced production, improved product quality, and increased business efficiency for many enterprises in the province.

More than 3,200 initiatives in a year

In 2024, the entire province recognized over 3,200 initiatives that provided businesses with benefits worth more than 400 billion VND. Notably, many industrial zones and clusters introduced the "Good Workers, Creative Workers" movement at the beginning of the year. This initiative aims to motivate union members and workers to fully utilize their diligence and creativity.

Workers in VSIP Industrial Park alone have had more than 600 outstanding initiatives. Many enterprises producing electronic products, garments, leather shoes, and food have dozens of innovations per year, such as: Far Eastern Apparel Co., Ltd., Media Consumer Electric Co., Ltd., Foster Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd., Tessellallation Binh Duong Co., Ltd....

Ms. Chu Thi Hue, a senior cutting manager at Far Eastern Apparel Co., Ltd., was recently honored by the Provincial Labor Confederation during Workers' Month. She shared her thoughts on the company's initiatives: “Our company specializes in garment export. After 15 years with the team, my colleagues and I have implemented many initiatives at work. Personally, I have introduced several initiatives over the years, which have been recognized by the company's leadership and trade unions at various levels. In 2024, my initiative to 'Reduce the numbering process for Lululemon products' received recognition across all levels, yielding a total benefit of over 1.6 billion VND per year.”

According to Ms. Hue, these achievements were made possible thanks to the company’s leadership and grassroots trade unions, which promote the emulation movement within each production line. A dedicated department monitors and records these achievements. Effective initiatives are promptly acknowledged by the company, and employees are assigned roles that reflect their accomplishments, motivating everyone to work diligently.

The promotion of effective policies and appropriate incentives for initiatives and innovations has led to the success of the "Good Workers, Creative Workers" movement in many other enterprises in the province. Many workers in Binh Duong were honored by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor at the 2024 "National Labor Productivity Improvement" Forum. One exemplary figure is Mr. Nguyen Dinh Vuong, Deputy Director of the Production Department at Foster Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd.

As an industrial electrical engineer with over 16 years of experience at the company, Mr. Vuong has continually learned and gained practical experience to develop optimal initiatives that he applies in actual production. In addition to sharing his knowledge with younger workers, he consistently proposes at least one high-quality initiative each year. Most recently, he suggested an initiative to improve product quality and reduce defects, saving the company approximately 70,000 USD annually in material costs. Furthermore, Mr. Vuong proposed reusing materials by creating guidelines for separating reusable materials, developing inspection procedures, and training workers to follow these guidelines, ultimately saving an additional 1.6 billion VND per year in material costs.

Elevate the movement toward sustainable development

To enhance the depth and effectiveness of the "Good Workers, Creative Workers" movement, the Provincial Labor Confederation has recently launched Workers' Month 2025 under the theme: “Creative Labor Festival - Binh Duong Workers Pioneering into a New Era.” The "Creative Labor Festival" provides an opportunity to recognize and honor outstanding collectives and individuals who have implemented innovative initiatives, embraced new technology, and improved productivity and quality in their work. It also serves as a platform to express gratitude and support for workers facing hardships.

During the launch ceremony, Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan, Head of the Provincial Party Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, emphasized the importance of collaboration among various levels of government to further promote the Workers’ Month and the creative labor movement. He highlighted the need for the Provincial Federation of Labor’s Standing Committee to work closely with authorities to create favorable mechanisms and policies that foster sustainable development in the creative emulation movement. Moreover, he encouraged trade union organizations to identify and support exemplary initiatives. Strengthening cooperation between trade unions and enterprises is essential for providing workers with comprehensive development opportunities through skill enhancement, improved working conditions, and the integration of digital technology. This effort aims to cultivate a "culture of innovation" across factories, workshops, and various labor positions.

To expand the reach and effectiveness of the "Good Workers, Creative Workers" movement, trade unions throughout the province are currently launching and actively participating in the "Digital Popular Education" initiative. A notable example is in Ben Cat City, where the City Labor Federation has partnered with local departments, branches, and industrial parks to implement a program aimed at "Eliminating Digital Illiteracy for the Entire Population in the Digital Age" through community outreach efforts.

According to Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan, the province is promoting the "Digital Popular Education" movement, and the Standing Committee hopes that workers in Binh Duong will take the lead in this initiative. Their participation will contribute to the development of a digital nation, a digital society, and digital citizens, including workers who can effectively apply artificial intelligence (AI) in production.
