Mr. Nguyen Viet Xuan, from Tien Giang province, along with his wife, went to seek employment at the Dong An Industrial Park. He shared: "Last year, due to a lack of orders at the company where I worked, my family returned to our hometown for a period of time. This year, I have noticed many enterprises recruiting labor, with incomes higher than in previous years. This is an opportunity for many job seekers in the early days of the year, and I myself am very happy to have a job to return to."
At the industrial parks of Song Than 3, Dai Dang, Kim Huy in Thu Dau Mot City, many companies have put up recruitment signs at the beginning of the year. However, there are not many job seekers. 35,000 employees needed at the beginning of the year
The Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (DOLISA) reported that as of February 19, about 94% of businesses in the province have resumed operations with over 90.7% of workers returning to work. Among them, the number of businesses outside industrial parks that have resumed operations reached approximately 92.5%, and the ratio of workers returning to work to the total number of workers was 90%. Businesses within the province's industrial parks have resumed operations at a rate of about 95.8%, with the ratio of workers returning to work to the total number of workers reaching 91.5%.
According to the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the situation of labor returning to work at the company is basically stable. Labor recruitment needs in the first months of 2024 mainly focus on some sectors such as textiles, leather shoes, and furniture. Forecast for the first 6 months of 2024 signaled that businesses will need about 25,000 - 30,000 workers (mostly unskilled and skilled workers accounting for 80%). The main labor source will mainly supplement the shortage of workers after the Lunar New Year. In addition, job hopping, job transitions, and new wage levels will make the job market more vibrant at the end of Q1-2024.
Assessment of the labor situation returning to work after the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Yang Wood Dragon 2024 as of February 19, Mr. Pham Van Tuyen, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, stated that the labor situation returning to work at enterprises in the province has basically been stable due to the retention policies of enterprises that have effectively encouraged workers to return to work. Before Tet, businesses have implemented salary payments, bonuses as well as various allowances and support for employees before the Lunar New Year holiday (such as Tet gifts, year-end parties, financial support or transportation tickets for employees returning to their hometown), giving lucky money on the first working day of the year and some other preferential policies.
According to the leadership of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the return of workers to stable work at the beginning of the year will meet the production line of the enterprise and there will be no significant labor fluctuations (less than 5% of workers will not return to work at the old enterprise), thereby creating favorable conditions for enterprises to stabilize production and business.
