Outstanding Vietnamese athlete Truong Thanh Hang secured a berth for the 2012 London Olympics after winning a gold medal at the 2011 Asian Athletics Championships on July 10.

 

 She defeated nine other rivals to win the gold in the women’s 800m event. Before the event, Hang was expected to encounter difficulties running against major rivals Margarita Matsko from Kazakhstan and Tintu Luka from India.

 The London Olympics will be held in London, England from July 27 to August 12, 2012.
