HCM city Journalists Association’s football tournament 2022 kicks off

After a year of being interrupted due to Covid-19 pandemic, Ho Chi Minh city’s Journalists Association’s Football Tournament - Thai Son Nam Cup in 2022 officially returned with many dramatic and exciting matches by a contingent of reporters and editors from central-local newspapers and radio stations in Ho Chi Minh city.

The 2022 Ho Chi Minh city Journalists Association football tournament was held to celebrate the 97th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2002). This was a useful playground for reporters and editors after stressful working hours. Despite being an amateur playground, athletes must have the certificates of getting enough doses of Covid-19 vaccine as prescribed.

The tournament was officially held at Tao Dan Stadium from June 18 with the participation of 15 men's teams and 4 women's teams. Right after the opening ceremony, many matches with high professional quality took place. The most notable match in the first round was the encounter between Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper and the Life - Society Reporters Club.

Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper had quite quality additions of Dinh Thao (Lao Dong) and Duc Nguyen (Soccer Newspaper). But, with its experience plus many quality players such as Hoang Giang, Dang Bao, Thai Hai, Minh Nghia, the Life - Society Reporters Club won with the score 8-2. The tournament will continue with the next matches on June 24.
