HCM City to host 2011 Open International Athletics Tournament

 So far, 65 athletes from five countries and territories have registered to take part in the event, including competitions from the Republic of Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia, Hong Kong (China) and Vietnam. They will compete for 43 sets of medals in both men’s and women’s events.

 The annual competition, which has been recognized as a regional event by the Asian Athletics Association (AAA) since May 2010, will impose international athletics rules.

 During the tournament, the Ho Chi Minh City Athletics Federation will also organize an open athletics championships for athletes from provinces and cities across the country. More than 400 athletes from 29 teams will compete in 18 men’s events and 16 women’s events.
