Compared to the previous school year, this year's exam took place in the "new normal" condition, hence both students and parents were no longer worried about the pandemic. This was a favorable condition for the exam to take place smoothly and achieve high efficiency.
Confident candidates
At Examination Board No. 3 located at Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Secondary School (Thu Dau Mot City), candidates arrived very early to attend the opening ceremony as well as finish procedures before the test. They looked happy, comfortable, and were ready to enter the exam.
Vo Pham Phuong Phuong, student of Trinh Hoai Duc Junior High School (Thuan An City) doing the test at this examination board, said: "I am prepared both knowledge and mentally to enter these two important exam dates. I hope to complete the exam with the best results to commensurate with my hard learning time as well as the expectation of my teachers and parents. "

Expectant parents
On the first exam day, many parents took their children to testing sites from 6: 30 a.m. and waited at school gates until they finished the test. While waiting for their child to do the test, parents talked with each other about school choices and most of all, they want their child to have a good exam and achieve good results.
Le Thi Hang, in Phu Loi Ward, Thu Dau Mot City, said that her child entered the examination room but she was very anxious outside. However, Hang hoped that her child could gain good exam results and get into the applied school. Seeing her daughter reviewing lessons and preparing for this exam, she comforted her daughter and shared her worries to make her feel at ease before the exam.
“This morning, my daughter and I woke up at 4.00 a.m. to go to the exam venue. For a good exam, there must be good preparation. This year is a pretty hard school year for all students due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, online learning was not really effective, thus I hope this year exam questions would not be too difficult and the admission score of schools is not too high", Hoa added.

Proctors closely monitored the mental and physical health conditions of candidates in examination rooms to promptly report any incidents to the examination board. The Examination Board also agreed that if a candidate forgets to bring his/her ID card, he/she still be able to sit the exam after we make a verification, not let candidate be bewildered, affecting their results; all for a safe, serious and most effective exam”.
On the first exam day, questions, like: did you do the test well?, did you finish all questions?..., hugs of parents when they saw their children coming out of exam rooms, or greetings, encouragement from teachers made candidates so touched and try harder for the math test on the next day. To candidates who have recently graduated from junior high school, this summer is meaningful because of this exam. Hopefully they would continue to enter a meaningful and interesting school level with new knowledge ahead of them.
