Update: 02-10-2012 | 00:00:00

Binh Duong Provincial Television (BTV) has over time implemented many social charity programs featuring humanistic values. Noticeably, the “Mai am tinh thuong” (House of compassion)” program made by BTV’s Department of Science and Education has helped hundreds of poor households to stabilize their lives, contributing to realizing the Party and State’s social welfare policies.

Nguyen Xuan Nam, Head of BTV’s Department of Science and Education said that the “House of compassion’s program was established on Feb.2007 under cooperation between provincial Fatherland Front Committee and the main sponsor  Paint Tison Co.Ltd.

According to statistics, the program built 180 houses of compassion valued at more than VND6bln for the poor over the past five years. The program has set 2012’s target of building and donating 36 houses of compassion to the poor. As of Sept.2012, the program built 25 houses of compassion worth VND60mln each, including VND42mln-VND45mln for construction and the remainder for cash and necessary utensils.

Possibly speaking, the program has actually made a good resound in the heart of people in and out of the province. Mr.Nam said that the program’s humanistic meaning has featured the beauty of Vietnamese people’s tradition “La lanh dum la rach” (The healthy leaf covers the torn leaf).

With its deep humanistic significance, the program has also received contributions from hundreds of donors in and out of the country. Nguyen Binh Dung, the owner of a livestock farmstead in Ben Cat district is a typical donor of the program. In addition to contributing cash and essential utensils, he has actively mobilized many other donors to buy land for the poor. Or, Mrs.Hai, the owner of Van Hoa Electronic Appliances Co. has gone along with the program during the past five years.

Mr.Nam also said: “On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of BTV, on behalf of the program’s organizers, we sincerely thank donors who are always ready to offer help to the poor . We also hope that with donors’ contribution, the program will further be a bridge connecting love and bringing joys to people with difficulties”.
