Imprints of creativity and innovation from veterans

During the past 5 years, with the Resolution implementation of the 6th Provincial Veterans Association Congress, activities of the association developed actively, with creative, innovate and successful contents. With a united, responsible, and dynamic veteran force, the Provincial Veterans Association successfully completed all targets and tasks set out by Resolution of the 6th Provincial Congress, making accomplishments in the 2017-2022 tenure, creating a good foundation to enter the 2022-2027 period.

To promote self-reliance, help each other do business

Overcoming the losses and sufferings of war, veterans today are still dedicated themselves to the renovation of the homeland. They are the ones who preserve and develop the tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" who are not afraid of difficulties, are the victors on all fronts, no matter what it is wartime or peacetime. In Binh Duong, many exemplary veterans, who overcome obstacles and diseases to rise up, develop successful startups; are entrepreneurs creating jobs for hundreds and thousands of workers.

According to Pham Tuong Liem, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Veterans Association, the province currently has 667 production and business establishments that are owned by members of Veterans Association and attracting more than 5,800 employees. All members, who have production business establishments, strictly abide by laws, fulfill their tax obligations to the State, and contribute many billions of VND to the construction of public works in their localities and social charity activities.

Besides, thanks to the financial support of the State and Veterans Associations at all levels, and their own spirit of overcoming difficulties, dynamism and creativity, many members have actively studied themselves, invested, organized production business, and gained high economic efficiency. With its functions and tasks, the Provincial Veterans Association has coordinated closely with the authorities, the Fatherland Front, administrative agencies, especially provincial Bank for Social Policies, to create favorable conditions for its members to bring out their best.

More and more veteran members boldly invested in production and business models in the right direction, and gained practical efficiency, thereby members’ lives have been significantly improved, contributing to local socio-economic development. In the past five years, the whole province has 2,790 veteran households taking out loans from Bank for Social Policies, with a total outstanding loan assigned to Veterans Association of over VND56 billion, creating jobs for more than 6,000 workers.

Innovative, flexible, responsive

During the last term, Provincial Veterans Association staff and members made great efforts to overcome difficulties to successfully implement, fulfill targets and tasks set by Resolution of the 6th Provincial Congress. Most members actively took part in building and protecting the Party, the government, and the socialist regime. Many veteran officials and members have been trusted and elected to Party committees and People's Councils at all levels.

A prominent thing in the last term is that Veterans Association at all levels in the province performed well the propagation, mobilization, and organization for officials and members to actively participate in the Covid-19 prevention control, join hands with all-level Party committees, authorities, mass organizations and the whole people to fight the pandemic. As a result, there were more than 1,600 participations of officials and members in Community Covid Teams; more than 11,600 turns of members on duty at checkpoints, participating in logistics and medical support activities. Disease prevention control activities in all areas of the province had the participation of veteran officials and members, especially many elderly members, whose physical condition is not so good, are participants with a high sense of responsibility, making practical actions and leaving good imprints.

Promoting Uncle Ho's soldier traits, the tradition of "loyalty - solidarity - exemplary - innovation", Veterans Associations in the province have had good practices, creative and effective models, such as: : Veteran Golden Heart Fund of Di An City Veterans Association has helped hundreds of students and people having harsh circumstances; the model of "Veterans as honorary Youth Union Secretary" in hamlets and quarters developed by Veterans Association and Youth Union of Phu Giao District; "Do not scatter votive papers in funeral procession" is a practice of civilized lifestyle in weddings and funerals and was launched by Veterans Association of Phuoc Vinh town (Phu Giao District)...

Besides, the associations at all levels regularly encouraged officials, members, and people to actively join the movement "All people uphold solidarity to build a cultural life in residential areas"; the campaign "All people unite to build new-style remote areas and civilized cities"; implement cultural and civilized urban lifestyles, fight and eliminate social evils; build "Self-governing road", "Safe quarter and hamlet"...

Under the direct leadership and direction of the Vietnam Central Veterans Association and Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee; the close-knit and effective synergy between the Party, authorities, Fatherland Front, administrative agencies, and socio-political organizations, generations of veterans in the province have well brought into play the good traits of Uncle Ho’s soldiers, kept up political bravery, firm stance, absolute confidence in the leadership of the Party and administration of the government; well perform the top political task that is building and protecting the Party, the government, the socialist regime, and the people; being exemplary in the implementation of local campaigns, emulation movements, and development programs; taking care of the material and spiritual life and protect the legitimate interests of members...
