Improving role, position of Trade Union

Along with launching patriotic emulation movements, the Trade Union of Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) created many improvements in operational content and form towards grassroots level, step by step enhancing its role and position.

Working well, working creatively

Over the past five years, businesses in VSIP continued growing up, significantly contributing to the local economic development. Thuan An city-based VSIP 1 has so far had a total of around 162,000 workers. Businesses herein have also well obeyed the law and seen laborers as a precious resource for their development.

Outstanding individuals in the emulation movement of “Working well, working creatively” honored

According to Dang Thi Kim Chi, the Trade Union of VSIP now has a total 370 trade union locals with 140,387 trade unionists. Many patriotic emulation movements have been implemented with focus on “Working well, working creatively”. This is also one of practical emulation movements receiving enthusiastic response from laborers, arousing the patriotic tradition and solidarity among them.

Since 2016, there have been 880 works and thousands of technical initiatives made by workers from the emulation movement of “Working well, working creatively”, bringing more than VND520billiob in economic benefit to businesses. Over the past five years, more than 120 trade union locals regularly implemented the emulation movement and there were 16 outstanding collectives in this field honored. Some businesses with technical initiatives from the emulation movement include Foster Electronics Co.Ltd., Fujukura Co.Ltd., Hoya Lens Co.Ltd., Midea Co.Ltd., Sagon Stec Co.Ltd., Apparel Far Eastern Co.Ltd., Maruei Co.Ltd., Wanek Co.Ltd., Yokohama Co.Ltd., Omron Co.Ltd., Nitto Denko Co.Ltd…

Also from the emulation movement of “Working well, working creatively”, many outstanding individuals were discovered. With technical initiatives, Huynh Van Hoa from Midea Consumer Electric Vietnam Co.Ltd., Nguyen Thi Ngoc Phuong from Apparel Far Eastern Co.Ltd., Tran Xuan Sang from Omron Healthcare Manufacturing Vietnam Co.Ltd. helped their companies save more than VND640billion per year…

Developing emulation movements

For the emulation movement of “Working well, working creatively” getting better development, Mrs.Kim Chi said that the Trade Union of VSIP will continue coordinating with provincial Union of Sci-Tech Associations to propagandize technical creation contests among laborers; organize many practical activities to disseminate the emulation movement of “Working well, working creatively” with focus on propagandizing the Workers’Month, arousing laborers’self-awareness, self-strengthening and creation.

Trade Union locals will also collect technical initiatives from laborers for timely commendation from provincial People’s Committee, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Prime Minister. They will also recommend outstanding laborers to the Party and Trade Union, thereby contributing to building up a stronger and stronger Vietnamese working class. Especially, in the difficult context, due to Covid-19 pandemic, the role of the Trade Union needs to improve towards grassroots level in order to take care of the lives of laborers, building up advanced, harmonious labor relations in businesses…
