In 2021, Binh Duong gains a trade surplus of 7 billion USD

On Dec 29, the Provincial Statistics Office held a press conference to announce socio-economic statistics for 2021.

Ngo Van Mit, Director of the Provincial Statistics Office, informed that in the first months of 2021, the province's economy continued to be stable and started to prosper. However, the fourth Covid-19 wave seriously affected people's lives and production business activities of enterprises. With the "dual goal" of preventing fighting the pandemic and protecting people's health, recovering developing socio-economic sectors, the province strived to achieve the highest development goals in 2021.

Namely, the gross domestic product (GRDP) increased by 2.62% over the same period last year; index of industrial production (IIP) increased by 4.5%; total retail sales of consumer goods and services increased by 3.3%, of which total retail sales of goods increased by 12.1%; export turnover of goods increased by 17.1%; import turnover of goods increased by 18.6%; total state budget revenue reached 61,200 billion VND, total local budget expenditure 32,201 billion VND.

The average GRDP per capita in 2021 reached 152.2 million VND/year, an increase of 1.2 million VND compared to 2020. The province continued to have a trade surplus of 7 billion USD, of which the economic sector of domestic investment had a surplus of 3 billion USD, the economic sector of foreign direct investment had a surplus of 4 billion USD.

As of Dec 15th 2021, the province attracted 5,185 new business registrations, down 20.7% over the same period last year, with a total capital of 38,279 billion VND; 1,013 enterprises adjusted to increase capital by 48,891 billion VND. Foreign direct investment attracted 2.1 billion USD, up 6.5% year-on-year. Accumulated up to now, Binh Duong ranks third in the country in terms of FDI attraction with 4,012 projects, total capital of 37,144 billion USD...
