Speaking at an online event, Ngurah said that many countries have shown their support for AOIP, including the establishment of cooperation to create a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
He emphasised the need for ASEAN to be able to lead and be a driving force of all Indo-Pacific initiatives.
Sharing the view, ASEAN Secretary-General Kao Kim Hourn expressed his belief that superpowers will remain their support for the bloc in carrying out AOIP principles.
According to him, these principles promote inclusiveness and openness of the international community by emphasising economic and trade cooperation./.
