Industrial parks aim for sustainable development

Currently, 28 industrial parks (IPs) in the province have been filled with investment projects. Binh Duong is accelerating the progress of implementing and investing in the construction of industrial park infrastructure according to planning, focusing on preparing good conditions, satisfying investors' needs, and proactively welcoming new foreign investment capital flows.

 Open new opportunities

With 28 active industrial parks, the occupancy rate reached over 93%, making Binh Duong the locality with the highest industrial park occupancy rate in the country. In 2024, the province will accelerate the establishment of high-tech industrial parks and supporting industrial parks; At the same time, develop policies, implement support and encourage the conversion of industrial production facilities in the South to develop appropriate trade, services, urban and high-tech industries in accordance with planning.

According to Provincial Industrial Parks’ Management Board, in 2024, Binh Duong will accelerate and quickly expand the area of industrial parks according to the planning approved by the Prime Minister. Immediately after the Provincial People's Council approved the planning project of VSIP 3 (phase 2), more than 800 hectares and Cay Truong Industrial Park 700 hectares, these industrial parks are completing its infrastructure, clearing spaces to welcome new capital flows. Along with other industrial parks in the province, these two new industrial parks are expected to continue to become a new growth engine for Binh Duong.

Currently, industrial parks in the province have attracted 2,769 FDI projects with a total registered investment capital of more than 28.4 billion USD and nearly 700 domestic investment projects with a total registered investment capital of more than 88,000 billion VND. Although the economic situation at home and abroad does not go up much in the first months of the year, currently enterprises in the province's industrial parks are operating stably.

At Cay Truong Industrial Park, Lai Uyen town and Cay Truong 2 commune, Bau Bang district are urgently investing in infrastructure. According to planning, Cay Truong is a multi-industry industrial park with various types of industries, focusing on attracting investment projects suitable to the socio-economic development orientation of the province. Cay Truong Industrial Park has a total investment capital of more than 5,459 billion VND with Becamex IDC Corporation as the investor. The investment plan for Cay Truong Industrial Park project was approved, the expected construction period is from 2022-2026, infrastructure leasing period 2022-2030. Cay Truong Industrial Park promises to create more motivation to attract investment and develop industrial production in Bau Bang district in the coming period.

Vo Thanh Giau, Chairman of Bau Bang District People's Committee, said that Bau Bang is a locality that has an approved plan to increase the industrial park area by 6.2 times compared to the currently operating area. In addition to Bau Bang Industrial Park and expanded Bau Bang, the district also has Tan Binh and Cay Truong Industrial Parks. In addition, the Scientific Technological Industrial Park project is opening up huge development opportunities for the district.

Development is increasingly sustainable

In the period 2020-2025, the province focuses on attracting investment in planned industrial parks, accelerating implementation progress and investing in infrastructure construction; does research to form Science and Technology Industrial Park, continue the road map to convert functions, relocate enterprises to industrial zones and clusters in the province. At the same time, the province studies plans to upgrade and convert existing industrial parks into supporting, ecological, innovative industrial parks, industrial - urban - service parks in accordance with the province's new orientation for the period 2021-2030, vision to 2050.

One of the new growth drivers is the Science and Technology Industrial Park in Bau Bang district. This is one of the key projects of the Innovation Zone Project to attract large corporations and enterprises in key manufacturing industries with high added value, suitable for the current period. The project is implemented and planned according to green, clean, beautiful and sustainable criteria. The industrial park is built with synchronous and modern infrastructure such as roads, electricity, water supply and drainage, telecommunications, wastewater treatment, green parks, and squares. The industrial park develops multi-industry combined with service projects, such as healthcare, education, commercial centers, hotels, restaurants, shopping malls, entertainment, cultural centers, and community sports centers, social housing...

Besides, the industrial - urban - service park is a model that combines industrial development with urbanization, ensuring the sustainable development of industrial parks; Parallel development with industrial production zone and research and development center (R&D), business incubation center, education, healthcare, entertainment... to create a good living and working environment for workers, technological and economic experts.

According to Nguyen Trung Tin, Head of the Provincial Industrial Park Management Board, to develop more and more sustainably, the provincial Industrial Parks are taking the initiative in all solutions to attract increasingly quality and effective investment capital. Accordingly, the construction and development of the province's industrial parks will be more intensive. The Provincial People's Committee is completing procedures for supporting mechanical industrial parks and continuing to review planning and remove difficulties and obstacles for other industrial parks. The Management Board of Industrial Parks is also closely coordinating with investors in the infrastructure of industrial parks, especially newly approved industrial parks, so that investors can soon implement production projects here and attract more new projects in the near future.

Grasping and quickly adapting to the continuous development of science and technology, and to establish a solid foundation for the sustainable development of Binh Duong, the province's new generation industrial parks promise to bring to a comprehensive ecosystem for technology and knowledge-intensive activities. Industrial parks, such as VSIP 3, science and technology, are expected to play a key role in converting current industrial parks into smart industrial parks, gradually helping Binh Duong have a solid foundation in science and technology, own and create new production tools based on science and technology, preparing to take advantage of new opportunities in the digital era, the era of industry 4.0.

 Binh Duong is planning the province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. It is expected to continue new investment and expansion of existing industrial parks but towards higher standards of science, technology, and environmental protection, focusing on attracting industries that bring high added value and meet the increasingly strict standards of international investors.
