Infrastructure planning to develop modern ecosystem of modern logistics

Binh Duong strives to develop, attract modern supply chains, prioritize logistics in each manufacturing sector. Especially, in the new strategy, Binh Duong plans many class logistics centers.

Great potentials

According to Mrs. Huynh Dinh Thai Linh, Director of the World Trade Center of the new city of Binh Duong (WTCBD), a member of the Binh Duong Logistics Association, Binh Duong has a plan to develop a specialized logistics ecosystem based on upgrading traditional industries, developing modern production, along with exhibition industries. Binh Duong is developing a semiconductor logistics ecosystem associated with upgrading the industrial ecosystem. Binh Duong has many semiconductor industry enterprises, with a research and development support center for innovation by Becamex IDC. Along with that are the directions to attract the semiconductor industry in the near future.

“WTCBD makes great efforts in developing the exhibition industry along with the ecosystem of industries such as logistics, communications, and human resources. Especially in the field of exhibition logistics, it will serve international events and at the same time bring goods of businesses from both domestic and foreign markets to the exhibition area,” Mrs. Huynh Dinh Thai Linh further shared about the direction of WTCBD.

Before this orientation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Thi Thu Hoa, Director of the Vietnam Logistics Research Institute, believes: "To develop the specialized logistics ecosystem, Binh Duong needs to clearly define the internal characteristics of each industry linked to specific items about warehousing, transportation schedules, transportation methods, and preservation to develop and manage the supply chain effectively. To develop the logistics ecosystem for the semiconductor industry, it is necessary to determine which route, how long the transportation time to the port is, and how much warehouse space is used to attract suitable investors.”

Ms. Christina Shen, Director of ShenYang WTC from China, said: "We are impressed with the new city of Binh Duong, but lack information on investment, import-export markets to connect local businesses. We can connect import-export information to develop supply chains through exhibition support for businesses. In addition, we also have advantages in the supporting industry, automotive industry materials, machinery".

To build class logistics

Mr. Nguyen Van Danh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, said that Binh Duong considers logistics as an important industry. Binh Duong has planned land funds for the development of the logistics industry alongside the arrangement of production and infrastructure investment. In addition, developing infrastructure in the direction of regional connectivity, turning logistics into a supporting industry for local goods, making Binh Duong worthy of being the logistics center of the Southeast region. The government creates premise, attracts investors with potential to elevate Binh Duong logistics ecosystem to new heights.

“At the China Meeting Horasis 2024, we proposed to the Government the upgrading and expansion of the Sóng Thần logistics center from 60 hectares to 200 hectares. A major advantage is that Binh Duong already has a railway line for direct transportation of goods to China, entering the third market. The intermodal train carrying agricultural products directly to China departing from Binh Duong will kick off many activities to expand cooperation, pave the way for agricultural products, logistics,” Mr. Nguyen Van Danh informed.

Mr. Pham Ngoc Thuan, General Director of Becamex IDC Corporation, said that Becamex IDC has planned a 70-hectare logistics center in the innovative ecosystem of the new city of Binh Duong. This logistics ecosystem, along with green infrastructure, green industrial zones, modern production, and high-quality service ecosystem, will continue to be a bright spot to attract strong investors to Binh Duong.
