Initial results of provincial Project on Improving youth’s awareness of the law

Initial results

Provincial Steering Board of the Project had a close coordination with sectors and Youth Unions at all levels to organize many programs to well realize a target of the local youth’s awareness of the law during the 2009 and 2013 period

Particularly, the Steering Board held contests on the laws relating to labor, environment, traffic safety…, absorbing more than 200,000 Youth Union members; teamed up with 11 law offices to give free legal consultancy for Youth Union members; joined hands with many units to organize 135 mobile law dissemination shows with the participation of more than 41,000 Youth Union members and locals.

The Steering Board also coordinated with relevant agencies to compose and issue around 80,000 leaflets and 5,000 handbooks on legal knowledge pertaining to the Law on Marriage-Family, the Law on Road Traffic, the Law on Military Service…for Youth Union members, young workers and locals; organized more than 5,000 shows on legal consultancy, installed propaganda boards on wearing helmets at crossroads with traffic signals…

Such these apart, the Steering Board also helped equip its affiliates with more than 900 legal books and handbooks; regularly organized training courses on propaganda skills for members of the local youth volunteer teams on law dissemination; made “Youth and the law” pages on provincial Youth Union’s website, Binh Duong Newspaper, Binh Duong Radio-Television Station and other mass media channels.

Propaganda’s efficiency improved

Possibly speaking, Dong Hoa ward in Di An town was one of outstanding localities in implementing provincial Project on Improving youth’s awareness of the law over the past time.

Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, Secretary of provincial Youth Union cum Head of the Project’s Steering Board has asked for the Project’s secretariat to team up with sectors and units to more effectively organize propaganda activities, including attaching special importance to upgrading leaflets on law dissemination as stipulated; making more investment in “Youth and the law” columns on provincial Youth Union’s website, propaganda channels…

In addition, she has also suggested the local Youth Unions at all levels to flexibly apply all resources to effectively carry out the Project. The Project’s Steering Boards at all levels also need to have different and effective propaganda methods upon the real situation of each locality for better results.
