Automation and energy solutions are becoming increasingly essential in industrial development. They are the determining factor in optimizing production efficiency and minimizing environmental impact, aiming for sustainable development. Recognizing the importance of that, on the afternoon of June 20, Becamex IDC collaborated with the World Trade Center of the new city of Binh Duong and Coex (South Korea) to organize a conference on automation and energy with the theme: Driving force for smart production.
Conference on automation and energy with the theme: Motivation for intelligent production attracting a large number of attending delegates
To strengthen automation and efficient energy management
In the context of Vietnam's industrialization and modernization efforts, the development of industry and automation is the key to enhancing competitiveness, promoting trade, and achieving sustainable economic growth. In recent years, Binh Duong has continuously made efforts to develop its industry and has become one of the leading industrial centers in Vietnam. Particularly, attracting foreign investment remains a bright spot for the province. Since the beginning of 2024 until May 30th, Binh Duong has attracted nearly 589 million US dollars of foreign direct investment. Accumulatively, Binh Duong has attracted over 4,300 projects with a total investment capital of nearly 40.7 billion USD from 65 countries and territories, ranking third in the country, after Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
Mr. Nguyen Truong Thi, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said: "To maintain the development momentum, Binh Duong has focused on promoting automation in manufacturing industries, thereby not only improving labor productivity but also reducing production costs, creating favorable conditions for business development. Many businesses in Binh Duong have pioneered the application of modern automation technologies such as industrial robots, automatic control systems, and smart production lines. This not only improves the competitiveness of businesses in the domestic and international markets but also contributes to building Binh Duong into an advanced locality in technology and modern production.”
Song song with the automation process, efficient management and use of energy is also an essential factor in the process of smart production transformation. "With the increasingly developed renewable energy sources, Binh Duong has been encouraging businesses to invest in clean energy technologies, minimizing environmental impact and ensuring sustainable development. Binh Duong has developed green industrial parks with standards for environmental protection, efficient use of resources and energy. Binh Duong Smart City - Top 1 ICF 2023 is a typical example, not only a bright spot in technology and smart management but also a model for sustainable development," said Mr. Nguyen Truong Thi.
At the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Khanh, CEO of Vietnam Industrial Zone Information Portal (VIZ), Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Real Estate Association, announced that as of 2023, Vietnam has 418 operating industrial zones with a total area of 129,900 hectares, of which Binh Duong has 29 industrial zones. Industrial parks in Binh Duong are heading towards sustainable development, with smart integrated designs, transforming traditional energy into solar energy, building technology systems and solutions to reduce emissions, and training high-quality human resources to meet the needs of businesses in the industrialization and modernization trend.
At the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hoai Quoc, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Automation Association, said that in the industrial development, Vietnam is heading towards digital transformation, green transformation, balancing greenhouse gas emissions, which is an essential development trend. "When implementing digital transformation and green transformation, businesses need to build solutions that are suitable for the conditions, circumstances, financial capacity, and human resources of the organization. When businesses have feasible studies, they will set sustainable goals to go far on the path of development. I think that many businesses in Binh Duong currently have a clear understanding of the challenges and trends of green industrial development and are undergoing very positive transformations," shared Associate Professor Dr. Le Hoai Quoc.
Sharing about "Industrial Development - Towards Smart, Sustainable and Net-zero Policies", Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Khanh states that the future of industrial parks must develop in a smart direction, which is also the responsibility of the State. According to Ms. Khanh, smart industrial parks inherently meet all the smart elements such as using smart technology, smart software to enhance the production efficiency of factories.
Businesses connected to promote cooperation.
To support businesses in the process of enhancing automation and efficient energy management towards smart production, Binh Duong has been implementing diverse policies. Recently, the province has created favorable conditions in terms of capital, infrastructure, workforce training, and trade connectivity, especially through specialized fairs and exhibitions to facilitate easy access and application of the latest technologies. At the same time, Binh Duong also promotes cooperation programs with partners inside and outside the country to share experiences, transfer technology, and expand the market.
To introduce the most advanced technological solutions in the fields of automation, electricity, and energy, as well as to bridge businesses both domestically and internationally, the conference has introduced the Automation World Vietnam and Electric Energy Show 2024. The event will officially take place from September 25th to 27th at the World Trade Center Exhibition Center in the new city of Binh Duong. The event brings together leading businesses and experts in the fields of automation, electricity, and energy from around the world, promising many opportunities for cooperation and development for the Vietnamese industry. With a scale of over 10,000m², Automation World Vietnam and Electric Energy Show 2024 are expected to attract more than 150 businesses with over 200 booths for each event and the participation of thousands of domestic and international visitors. The participating localities include: Binh Duong, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Bac Ninh, and many other provinces and cities.
Mr. Choi Jun Eui, Director of International Business at Coex (South Korea), the organizing unit, said: "The exhibition will introduce the most advanced technological solutions in the fields of automation, electricity, and energy, while bridging the gap between domestic and foreign businesses. This will be a forum for manufacturers, equipment suppliers, and service providers to meet, exchange experiences, and seek business partners."
Associate Professor Dr. Le Hoai Quoc, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh city Automation Society: Binh Duong is developing an industrial ecosystem 4.0. Recently, Binh Duong has proactively implemented and has had plans and programs to support businesses in digital transformation, aiming to optimize production lines, and build an Intelligent Operations Monitoring Center. Especially, the province is building a smart city. In my opinion, to soon realize this goal, Binh Duong needs to have additional support programs for experienced consultants and experts to help businesses implement the transformation faster. Mrs. Huynh Dinh Thai Linh, CEO of the World Trade Center in the New City of Binh Duong: Automation World Vietnam and Electric Energy Show 2024 will feature various business activities and specialized seminars. Top experts will present and discuss trends in development, applications of new technologies, and optimal solutions in the fields of automation, electricity, and energy. This will be combined with an investment promotion workshop on the development of smart and sustainable industrial zones in Vietnam. In addition, there will be a factory tour program to learn about the most advanced technologies and well-invested production lines right at the factories in Binh Duong and Dong Nai provinces' industrial zones. |
