Morning of January 1, the Central inter- sectorial supervision delegation on food safety led by Mai Duc Chinh, Vice President of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, had a meeting with Binh Duong provincial leaders on the performance of state management of food safety. Dang Minh Hung, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, and representatives of localities and related departments were present at the meeting.

According to Provincial People's Committee, immediately after the issuance of Directive 123 / CT-Tg, provincial People's Committee implemented all the contents under direction of the Prime Minister on enhancing State management responsibilities for food safety. Therefore, the food safety guarantee work achieved its objectives and targets, basically kept control of food safety risks; minimized the number of food poisoning cases in group kitchens; basically kept control of the loss of food safety for food ingredients, vegetables.

To implementing the Government's direction to intensify the inspection and examination, especially unexpected inspection of food safety and hygiene, in 2017, the province inspected 17,414 establishments, found 3,368 violation cases.

At the meeting, members of the delegation discussed some related issues, such as collaboration between sectors on food safety, implementation of the central cooperation program, accountabilities of Trade unions in collective kitchen inspection... Representatives of the health, agriculture and industry sector explained some issues concerning the delegation; presented some difficulties and problems they encountered during the food safety management at locality.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Chinh commented that the state management in Binh Duong province was well performed through the good control of food safety risks and the decreased number of accidental poisoning cases. However, the presence of food additives was still widespread; food safety control for small producers was not really good; inspection work lacked both human resources and professional qualifications ... However, the province needed to enhance communication to consumers and businesses and have higher determination to solve food safety problems.

Previously, on January 24, the inter-sectorial supervision delegation on food safety inspected 3 enterprises in three areas of group kitchen, food processing industry and trade center in the province. The members surveyed and evaluated the production and business environment, regulations on inspection of product origin... In general, 3 enterprises achieved quite good results but still had some inadequate contents.
