Update: 12-07-2023 | 10:54:13

"Bright spot in school" is the title of a propaganda skit on traffic safety performed by provincial Cultural Center at province-based high schools. With a light and funny way of conveying, the skit has contributed to raising people's awareness in obeying traffic laws.

Creative fun summer

Returning to Le Loi high school in North Tan Uyen district on a cool summer day, provincial Cultural Center’s Propaganda - Mobile Cinema Team had memorable memories with students participating in the meeting for summer activities. Although having to travel long distances to get to the school, students and singers had joyful and vibrant items to start a new day with youthful summer tunes.

A scene from the skit "Bright spots in school"

Opening the program were songs being loved by young people today, such as: "Beautiful Vietnam", "Smile 18, 20"; "The Last Summer", "That's Where I Find My Return"… Besides, the students had the opportunity to watch interesting jokes and performances by members of provincial Cultural Center’s Propaganda - Mobile Cinema Team. The propaganda skit on that day was titled "Bright spot in school" written and directed by Trung Hau.

The story in the skit revolved around a driver named "Tu driver" who specialized in taking and picking up students at a school in the province. As a driver, he was very conscious in obeying traffic laws and always wanted young people to be as serious as him. By spreading knowledge about traffic safety, Mr. Tu converted many students who were still "stupid" when participating in traffic.

During the motorbike trips, Mr. Tu often gave questions for students in the style of organizing a Gameshow "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire", asking questions about traffic safety for them to answer and applaud them with attractive gifts. He also chose good books, namely "Skills on prevention of violence in school", "Skills on drug prevention and control in school", "Skills on prevention of drug abuse in school", “Skills on child abuse", "Traffic Law"..., for pupils.

The most impressive thing was that one day, when Mr. Tu asked any question, pupils answered correctly. To answer Mr. Tu's surprise, the pupils said that they were members of the school's team that was rehearsing to participate in the Traffic Safety Contest organized by provincial Department of Education and Training.

"Bright spots" needed

After hearing pupils talking about the importance of traffic safety, Mr. Tu changed from being surprised at their wisdom to "liking so much". Tu and his pupils also delighted the audience with a meaningful self-composed song at the end of the skit: “Binh Duong is crowded with people and so happy. There are thousands of songs of harmony and love. Here we are filled with joy. The country is innovating. And our Party lights the path. The people are well-off and reaching for their dreams, enjoying the joy and happiness together. We are on a wide road, just don't hurry to school. Let's sing together."

Actor Quoc Khanh in the role of Mr. Tu said that the story of the skit was warmly received and applauded by the audience. Many pupils left in order and reminded each other to be more aware when participating in traffic. This is because now the pupils understand that the consequences of traffic accidents are really scary. They can change a person's future, especially for students, the owners of the future of the country.

According to director Trung Hau, in recent years, functional agencies have implemented many solutions to ensure traffic safety and order in front of the school gate in the most effective way. Agencies, departments, sectors and localities have paid special attention to building traffic culture among pupils.

With the main motto of prevention, provincial Department of Education and Training has directed schools to focus on promoting propaganda on the Road Traffic Law among teachers, parents and students. In order to raise awareness of people, especially students, Binh Duong has organized many propaganda activities on traffic safety at schools. The province has also regularly organized contests on  the Law on Road Traffic and traffic safety contests, etc., attracting a large number of participants.

“In addition to the skit “Bright spots in school”, we also hope that in the future there will be many other “bright spots” to help people from all strata raise their awareness of obeying the Law on Road Traffic to ensure safety when participating in traffic, thereby helping people better understand about their responsibilities to others and the community through cultural behaviors in traffic", added director Trung Hau.
