International multimodal train transporting goods from Song Than station to China launched

On the afternoon of September 27, Vietnam Railway Corporation coordinated with Binh Duong Customs Department to organize the launching ceremony of an international multimodal train transporting goods from Song Than station to China.

Song Than Station, located in Binh Duong province’s Di An city, is an international railway station and the largest freight station in the South, as well as a technical station, with 13 loading and unloading lanes and 7 cargo yards, with the North - South railway route of 1,726km long, single track of 1,000mm gauge, running on the North - South axis which is is an advantage. Putting intermodal transport services into operation at Song Than station will create favorable conditions for Binh Duong to become a center for imported goods and distribution to other localities in the region...

On this occasion, Hung Duy Import-Export-Trading-Services Co., Ltd. completed export procedures for the first batch of tapioca starch, used as food, with the quantity of 499.7 tons, packed in 19 40-feet containers. The declaration was classified into green by the Vietnam Automated Cargo Clearance System and Vietnam Customs Intelligence System (VNACCS/VCIS). According to schedule, on September 27, 2023, the shipment was transported to Song Than station and loaded onto carriages for transporting to Yen Vien station in Hanoi. Here, it continues to be transferred to a 1,400mm-gauge carriage for transporting to Dong Dang station in Lang Son and complete export procedures to China.
