International tourism festival to welcome the 1,000 year anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi

The international tourism festival of 2010 to welcome the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi and the National Tourism Year 2010 will be held on October 2-5th in Bao Son Paradise.

 

This information was released by the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

 

The centre of the festival is the international and domestic tourism exhibition showcases.

 

Among 315 showcases, there will be 50 showcases for nations from 5 continents, 100 showcases for tourism businesses in Hanoi, 115 showcases for Departments of Culture, Sport and Tourism and tourism businesses from 62 provinces and cities across the country and 50 showcases for sponsoring units.

 

During the four-day festival, there will be special art and cultural programs, folk games, daily life of old Hanoians and street festivals such as Then singing of Thai ethnic minority and water puppet performance.

 

The festival will also recreate the daily life of Hanoians at the end of the 19th century and the early 20th century, tents and bamboo camp-beds of candidate for mandarinal examinations in feudal Vietnam and calligraphic performances.

 

At the festival, the organizing board will also organize tourism destination promotion meetings of Vietnam and continents.
