Job opportunities for students

Last weekend, provincial Youth Union, Department of Science and Technology, Thu Dau Mot University jointly organized the 8th Youth Innovation Startup Festival and the 8th Youth Job Day at Thu Dau Mot University. The festival attracted thousands of students with many useful activities, helping them equip themselves with start-up skills as well as job opportunities.

Lots of exciting activities

This year's festival took place with many interesting and useful activities such as introducing and exhibiting topics, creative products, models, ideas, solutions on science and technology of the local youngsters; commending outstanding students in the 2023 provincial "Creative Youth" movement, the provincial movement "Students with 5 good performances" for the period of 2018-2023; honoring good young workers; signing a cooperation agreement between provincial Students Association and Young Entrepreneurs Association and between Thu Dau Mot University and provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association; signing a commitment to launch and strengthen volunteer teams to perform online public services...

Students find many job opportunities when participating in the 8th Youth Innovative Startup Festival and the Youth Job Day 2023

Especially, students had an opportunity to learn and listen to experts and speakers sharing their experience on innovative start-up, start-up skills and solutions to improve the quality of "students with five good performances". The festival also organized a talk show on "Connecting schools - businesses in improving the quality of human resources"; a forum on "Innovative start-up skills for young people"; a forum on "Chairman of provincial Students Association meeting with "students with 5 good performances"; proposed solutions to improve the quality of the association's work, the local student movement in the period of 2023-2028"; summarized the provincial movement of "Students with 5 good performances" for the period of 2018-2023.

Provincial Youth Union and Thu Dau Mot University also jointly launched a startup competition for students. In addition, provincial Department of Science and Technology launched a creative programming contest in association with building up a smart city. Also on this occasion, the Organizing Board of the program awarded 25 scholarships worth VND 50 million to students with excellent academic and training achievements and poor-but-excellent ones.

Tran Thi Diem Trinh, Secretary of provincial Youth Union, Chairwoman of provincial Students Association said: "The youth innovative startup movement is one of the key and important contents identified by provincial Youth Union Executive Board in the resolution of the 2022-2027 tenure in order to raise the local teenagers and children’s awareness of the role of creative activities to build Binh Duong homeland; uphold youth’s role pioneering in researching, taking advantage of positive factors from the 4th industrial revolution into the practice of studying, working in localities and units while finding and developing innovative startup ideas among students, thereby forming up a database of startup ideas, building and developing a creative startup ecosystem among the local students. The Youth Creative Festival was considered as a call for all Youth Union members, volunteers and students to try their best to promote their intelligence, impulses, creativity, mastering science and technology, making startup in order to rise up for legitimate wealth, contributing to building up a more and more civilized, beautiful and prosperous Binh Duong homeland.

Acting as bridge between enterprises and students

The highlight of the festival was the 10th Job Fair 2023. The fair was considered as the largest annual event in terms of job introduction, consultancy and recruitment for Youth Union members and students; was a bridge to help businesses and employers directly access “products trained” by schools to promote and introduce recruitment information, thereby selecting qualified human resources suitable for job positions as well as meeting units’ recruitment needs.

Le Van Hai, Director of Thu Dau Mot University’s Center for Business Startup Cooperation said that the university is very interested in supporting students for business startup. One of the school's annual activities is the annual job fair. This year is the 10th year the activity has taken place. Before organizing the program, the center organized a series of events to connect students such as guiding them how to prepare CVs, how to answer interviews to make a good impression on employers, etc, thereby helping them have the best job opportunity …”.

This year's festival brought together many domestic and foreign companies and enterprises operating in the province and neighboring localities. The vacancies span many fields on commerce, IT, retail distribution, media, architecture - construction, logistics... with 36 businesses participating in the recruitment booth directly at the festival and 1,500 job positions registered for recruitment.

Huynh Kim Lien, the 3rd year student of Thu Dau Mot University shared: “With many booths from businesses, students have an opportunity to approach, choose right careers as well as gaining more experience in answering job interviews.

The festival and job fair are one of the annual activities organized by provincial Youth Union Standing Committee, Department of Science and Technology and Thu Dau Mot University to evoke and spread the spirit of dynamism and creativity among young people. It is a place for students to interact with leaders of departments, agencies, entrepreneurs, businesses, successful young intellectuals in the fields of creativity, scientific research, startup and young talent development. The event aims at creating a first step for students to be able to find suitable job positions, creating a bridge for agencies, businesses and employers to meet and access quality "training products".
