Update: 31-03-2023 | 12:21:45

In order to heighten its role and position in the region, Binh Duong has been actively coordinating with Southeast provinces to accelerate connectivity projects, especially transport connection. The socio-economic development cooperation between Binh Duong and the Southeast provinces will contribute to creating a breakthrough for the economy of each locality, opening up new opportunities for the whole region.

Tam Lap - Dong Phu section of North Tan Uyen - Phu Giao - Bau Bang route is under construction.

Accelerate projects connecting Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc

As one of the key transportation projects connecting the Southeast region, currently the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh highway investment project is being closely coordinated and sped up by Binh Duong, Ho Chi Minh City, and Binh Phuoc province. The expressway starts at Go Dua intersection and ends at the intersection of National Highway 14 in Chon Thanh town (Binh Phuoc province).

At a meeting between leaders of the two provinces of Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc recently, after representatives of Binh Duong Department of Transport reported the project investment plan as well as proposals from Binh Duong, Tran Tue Hien, Chairwoman of Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Committee, basically agreed with Binh Duong's recommendations and will report to Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Council to consider allocating capital sources for the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh highway section passing through Binh Phuoc province (7km long).

This section will be invested by Binh Phuoc province in the form of public investment, with a total capital of about VND 1,500 billion for site clearance, compensation, and construction. “Binh Phuoc province is making efforts to overcome the disadvantage of geographical location through projects connecting the Southeast region, in which the focus is on the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway, the North - South expressway to Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) - Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc)", said Tran Tue Hien, Chairwoman of Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Committee.

In addition, the two provinces also agreed to assign two Departments of Transport and districts to survey, calculate route alignment and specific connection plans for provincial roads and bordering district roads of the two provinces to submit to People's Committee of the two provinces.

For the North Tan Uyen - Phu Giao - Bau Bang route, the route connects Binh Phuoc province at the location of Suoi Rac bridge in Phu Giao district, connecting to the Dong Phu-Binh Duong Road project according to the Binh Phuoc province plan. This route has a length of 12km. The route creates a road connecting North Tan Uyen - Phu Giao - Dong Phu districts, connecting with main routes, such as DT746, DT741, DH502 and Binh Phuoc province, in order to improve the efficiency of exploitation and meet the travel and transport demand in the area, contributing to the socio-economic development of North Tan Uyen, Phu Giao, and Dong Phu districts in particular and Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc provinces in general. Currently, this road is being constructed by Binh Duong province with a scale of 8 lanes, a width of 40.5m, expected to be completed in 2024.

In order to soon complete the route, Binh Duong province's leaders have always paid attention to, inspected and surveyed the works, directed relevant units to urgently remove difficulties and speed up the execution progress. Up to now, the clearance and handover of this road has basically reached 50%.

At the most recent survey in mid-March, Nguyen Van Danh, Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee, appreciated the efforts of investors and constructors. The Vice Chairman asked to determine the responsibilities of electricity and water supply units to urgently relocate electricity poles, install water supply and drainage systems, etc. Relevant units need to collaborate with Binh Phuoc province to remove difficulties in site clearance and compensation.

Increase connectivity between Dong Nai and Binh Duong

In order to increase the connectivity between Dong Nai and Binh Duong provinces, the two provinces agreed to add four bridge locations across the Dong Nai and Be rivers, including: Hieu Liem 2 Bridge, Tan An - Lac An Bridge, Tan Hien - Thuong Tan Bridge, and Thanh Hoi 2 Bridge, and Bien Hoa City and Di An City will connect at 6 locations: Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street (Tan Binh Ward, Di An City) and Pham Van Dien Street (Tan Hanh Ward, Bien Hoa City); Bui Thi Xuan Street (Tan Binh Ward, Di An City) and Hoang Minh Chanh Street (Hoa An Ward, Bien Hoa City); Road D5, Tan Dong Hiep B Industrial Park (Tan Dong Hiep Ward, Di An City) and Nguyen Van Lung Street (Hoa An Ward, Bien Hoa City); existing National Highway 1K, DT743A, and existing Bui Huu Nghia street (Tan Van bridge), adding a connection point between D1 road, the northeastern area of Di An, and the road connecting Bui Huu Nghia street to National Highway 1K.

Nguyen Van Danh, Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee, listens to report of the construction progress.

To speed up the implementation progress, recently Nguyen Van Danh, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, surveyed the current status of the proposed investment location of Hieu Liem Bridge connecting Hieu Liem Commune, North Tan Uyen District, Binh Duong province with Hieu Liem commune, Vinh Cuu district, Dong Nai province. At the survey, Nguyen Van Danh agreed on the policy, orientation, location, and direction to build the bridge. For the next stages, the Vice Chairman asked Department of Transport, Investment Construction Committee of provincial traffic works, and the Office of Provincial People's Committee to coordinate with units and localities to study and update local planning, quickly make reports based on surveys and existing records.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the investment in building Hieu Liem bridge will create favorable conditions for the circulation and trade of people's goods, promote the connection of administrative boundaries between Binh Duong province and Dong Nai province in general, North Tan Uyen district and Vinh Cuu district in particular, gradually improve traffic infrastructure in the area, contributing to promoting socio-economic development of the locality, limiting waterway accidents during rainy season and ensure the safety of people's lives and properties. Additionally, this is also the aspiration of the people of two localities, Hieu Liem Commune, North Tan Uyen District and Hieu Liem Commune, Vinh Cuu District.

Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee: It is necessary to quickly expand the transport corridor to the north, along Ring Road 4, bypassing Tan Uyen, Bien Hoa, and connecting to Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway; supplement the missing section from Tan Uyen to Bien Hoa. Industrial transport flows will follow highways, national highways, and avenues, turn into Ring Road 4 to provide resources for the Southeast economic axis, replacing transport flows that have previously followed Rings 2 and 3. This stretch helps Binh Duong move the provincial urban center to the north (Binh Duong new city), shift the industrial transport flow to Ring Road 4, shift the main industrial and logistics space to the northeast (Bau Bang, North Tan Uyen). From there, the radial transport flows into Ho Chi Minh City will mostly be for passengers and commerce, which is the premise for Thuan An and Di An cities to have space for reconstruction and structure transformation towards commercial, service, financial, knowledge urban; contribute to the formation of "development sub-region”.
