Since the 2025 Tet festival, Binh Duong has welcomed numerous visitors to participate in various festival activities. To ensure a successful festive season, local authorities have been implementing various initiatives, particularly in mobilizing and connecting different forces for charitable work, uniting efforts for a civilized, affectionate and environmentally friendly festival.

Bustling atmosphere

As the 15th day of the first lunar month of approaches, the festive atmosphere in Thu Dau Mot city becomes increasingly vibrant. On the afternoon of February 6 (the 9th day of the first lunar month), the Thien Hau lady palanquin procession at the second site of Thien Hau Ladey Temple in Hoa Phu ward took place, drawing tens of thousands of locals and visitors. This grand event marked a bustling festive season in Thu land - Binh Duong. The palanquin procession is the main ritual of the Thien Hau Lady Temple Festival, held annually on the 15th day of the first lunar month in Thu Dau Mot city.

The festival is regarded as one of the major cultural events of Thu land- Binh Duong and the entire Southeastern region. Beyond its religious significance, the Thien Hau Lady palanquin procession is the most vibrant and exciting highlight of the celebration. It is an occasion for both locals and visitors to come to Binh Duong during the festive season, enjoy mesmerizing lion and dragon dance performances, admire colorful flower trucks and immerse themselves in the lively atmosphere of the early spring festival.

Traditionally, the palanquin procession takes place on the 15th day of the first lunar month at the Thien Hau Lady Temple in Thu Dau Mot city’s Phu Cuong ward. Later, with the construction of the second Thien Hau Lady Temple in Hoa Phu ward, the procession has also been held there annually on the 9th day of the first lunar month.

Tran Vinh An, Pernament Vice Chairman of the Thien Hau Lady Temple Management Board in Thu Dau Mot city stated that in order to ensure the success of the palanquin procession at the second temple location, the board has closely coordinated with Hoa Phu ward’s Festival Steering Committee to establish a detailed plan, ensuring a safe, civilized and meaningful festival. Many visitors who attended the procession on the 9th day of the first lunar month praised this year's event for its large scale and attractive organization.

Joining hands in building the festival

With meticulous organization and an increasing number of participants each year, the Thien Hau Lady Temple festival in Binh Duong has become widely recognized for its unique appeal. One of its most distinctive features is the well-established reputation as a “free festival”, a tradition that has continued being growing, upholding a positive impact for many years.

From the palanquin procession on the afternoon of the 9th day until the 15th day of the first lunar month, many charitable activities have been carried out by various organizations and individuals along key routes, providing free services for both locals and visitors attending the festival.

Nguyen Hoang Yen, Chairwoman of Hoa Phu ward’s Fatherland Front Committee stated that in order to support this year’s festival, the local authorities have launched the "Civilized - Affectionate - Environmentally Friendly Festival" initiative, which has received enthusiastic participation from social organizations, religious institutions and donirs. Specifically, local mass organizations such as the ward’s Youth Union have implemented the "Spring Volunteer 2025" program, featuring activities like distributing free drinking water and cold towels, offering complimentary tire repair services for pilgrims at the Thien Hau Lady Temple in the ward, participating in environmental clean-up efforts and guiding visitors to key destinations during the Thien Hau Lady Temple Festival across the city.

Meanwhile, Hoa Phu ward’s Women's Union also organized a charity program for the 2025 Thien Hau Lady Temple Festival. On February 6, funded by social contributions, the ward’s Women’s Union distributed 200 loaves of breads, 500 bottles of mineral water, 300 bottles of herbal tea, pennywort juice and 500 cold towels to locals and visitors.

To ensure a safe and civilized festival, Hoa Phu ward’s Fatherland Front Committee launched a clean-up campaign around Hoi An Pagoda and Thien Hau Lady Temple. This initiative received strong support from local departments, mass organizations, quarter self-management teams and an environmental protection volunteer group within the Hoi An Pagoda Buddhist community. Additionally, starting from the afternoon of the 9th day of the first lunar month, the "Civilized Urban Motorcycle Taxi Team" began providing free motorbike taxi services for locals and visitors in need. The team will continue their free services on the 14th and 15th days of the first lunar month, operating in both morning and afternoon shifts.

At the Thien Hau Temple in Phu Cuong ward, charitable activities will be carried out simultaneously by mass organizations from February 12 until the 15th day of the first lunar month. Truong Thi Thu Hien, Chairwoman of Thu Dau Mot city’s Fatherland Front Committee stated that on the afternoon of February 9 (the 12th day of the first lunar month), the committee will collaborate with local organizations to launch the "Civilized - Affectionate - Environmentally Friendly Festival" initiative along with various free community services to support the 2025 Thien Hau Lady Temple festival.

The atmosphere of the 2025 Thien Hau Lady Temple festival continues thriving across Thu land - Binh Duong. With a variety of meaningful activities, thorough preparations by the organizers and the wholehearted dedication of volunteers and organizations, this year's festival is leaving beautiful impressions and images for both locals and visitors.

Nguyen Khanh Linh, Secretary of Phu Cuong ward’s Youth Union stated that as part of the "Spring Volunteer 2025" campaign launched by Thu Dau Mot city’s Youth Union, on the morning of February 9, the ward’s Youth Union will mobilize members and young volunteers to distribute free bottled water, lucky fortune plants and incense to visitors and pilgrims at the Thien Hau Lady Temple. This initiative will continue until February 12, 2025 (the 15th day of the first lunar month), with the collective goal of fostering a civilized, safe and free festival for the city.
