Sharing love

Facing with the situation that Covid-19 pandemic is causing many impacts on people's lives, especially in areas under lockdown and medical isolation for pandemic prevention and control, Vo Minh Duc high school’s Association for Class 12A15 former students in the 2001-2002 school year held a meeting to discuss and plan to donate necessities to those who are facing difficulties in pandemic-hit areas. Le Nguyet Hang, a representative of the association shared that members of the association are from different places, doing different jobs, but when hearing about this plan, they all participated in it enthusiastically. In addition to making contributions in accordance with their ability, each of them also mobilized more friends and acquaintances to support necessities, vegetables, and fruits for people affected the pandemic.

Vo Minh Duc high school’s Association for Class 12A15 former students  in the 2001-2002 school year and friends of Binh Duong offer gifts to Tan Uyen town’s Medical Center and people in Tan Uyen town’s Tan Phuoc Khanh ward

While choosing a suitable place to deliver necessities, a member of the association received a message from a worker asking for rice support from the association. The worker is now living in a blockage area with 2 small children. There are many people in the blockage area, so on the first few days, the worker only received 2 gourds and 10 eggs. “When finishing reading the message, everyone was in tears. That is also a motivation for members of the association to be more determined, seek ways to quickly give  support for the worker's blockage area," said Mrs. Hang.

As a result, members of the association contributed over VND 40 million and used the money to buy necessities for needy people. On July 1, the association cooperated with relevant units to give medical supplies against the pandemic to Tan Uyen town’s Medical Center together with 120 gifts to people in the blockade, medical isolation area in Tan Phuoc Khanh ward. It is known that each gift includes rice, sugar, eggs, fish sauce, soy sauce, cooking oil along with 120 packages of vegetables and fruits, totaling more than VND 33 million.

The association also promptly delivered 170 gifts to many workers at lodging facilities in Tan Uyen town’s Tan Phuoc Khanh ward, and Thuan An city’s Binh Chuan ward, with a total value of nearly VND30 million.

Joining hands to overcome pandemic

In the past few days, information about areas under lockdown and medical isolation for Covid-19 prevention and control made Nguyen Hoang Duy Ngan, who is in charge of the charity vegetarian kitchen in  Dau Tieng town’s quarter 2 in Dau Tieng district and members of the charity kitchen feel restless. Mr. Ngan and his members took advantage of all relationships to mobilize more funds, goods, vegetables, and fruits to quickly share difficulties with people in blockage areas.

With contributions by the local donors, the charity vegetarian kitchen has so far  made 2 trips sending necessities to people in pandemic-hit areas in Tan Uyen town’s Tan Phuoc Khanh ward and Thu Dau Mot city’s Tan An ward. In addition to necessities, each trip of the charity group also had fresh vegetables and fruits from the local people. Mr. Ngan shared that this was the heart of members of the charity kitchen as well as donors who supported vegetables, fruits, and other essentials for the kitchen with the desire of sending little love to people in pandemic-hit areas, contributing to sharing and motivating each other to overcome Covid-19 pandemic.

After many times of supporting resources for provincial Red Cross Society, Association of Women Entrepreneurs for Covid-19 prevention and control,  Le Thi Minh, Director of a company in the South Tan Uyen Industrial Park in Tan Uyen town’s Khanh Binh ward has continued having many charity shipments to localities, checkpoints in and out of the province, contributing to the local fight against Covid-19 pandemic. These days, she also received more support from many friends and relatives for this sharing activity.

Upon resources from her friends, she bought more chicken braised with lemongrass and onions in order to give them for people and workers staying in the areas under lockdown and medical isolation from July 3 to 7. She plans to cook 1,000 portions of chicken braised with lemongrass and onions within 3 days. Each portion includes 600 grams of chicken. Sharing with us, Mrs. Minh said: “…One piece of food when hungry is equal to a big basket of food when full. With my small deeds today, I just hope that the pandemic will be repelled soon and everyone is always healthy and safe”.

In addition to the efforts by localities, sectors and mass organizations at all levels, activities calling for sharing love during the pandemic period are also carried out by many units, organizations and individuals across the province. Each person, each group has a different way of organizing and implementing, but they all aim for a common goal, which is to contribute to sharing difficulties with people in pandemic-hit areas, and joining hands in checking the pandemic soon.
