The authorities of Chungbuk province in the Republic of Korea have pledged to give more support to Korean-Vietnamese multicultural families in the province.
Currently 2,134 Vietnamese brides are living in the province in central RoK.
Chungbuk province’s Deputy Governor Sul Mun Sik made the commitment during a meeting of 120 Korean-Vietnamese families and parents of 13 Vietnamese brides in Chungji city on August 20.
President of the For a Better Tomorrow Association Park Jung-kyum noted that this is the sixth time the association has held such event since 2008 with an aim to support the families in a better life.
Representative from the Vietnamese Embassy in the RoK Nguyen Thai Hoa said more than 50,000 Korean-Vietnamese families in the RoK as well as those in Chungbuk province have contributed to deepening relations between the two countries.
