Labor relations between employees and employers get more harmonious and closer

Nguyen Thien Phuoc, Vice-Chairman of provincial Labor Union said that with the motto of “Towards grassroots level”, provincial Labor Union promoted the emulation movements of “Working well, working creatively”, “Improving laborers’ qualification at requirements of integration and development” among laborers. As a result, laborers at province-based companies contributed 1,181 product works and 2,943 initiatives, bringing VND235bln in benefit.

Trade union locals at province-based companies have always attached special important to the task of protecting laborers’ legitimate  rights and interests and seen it as a top task. They have regularly organized meetings between employers, employees and trade union cadres to catch employees’ feeling and aspirations for timely solutions, contributing to building up harmonious labor relations.

In addition, they have made efforts in negotiating and signing mass labor deals with employers while organizing talk shows between provincial leaders, laborers and trade union cadres. They have also paid attention to activities on legal consultancy, contributing to improving laborers’ awareness of law enforcement.

According to statistics, the whole province is now to 36 Youth Union branches in enterprises with 1,728 Youth Union members and 54 organizations of Youth Union in non-State enterprises with more than 3,000 members. Provincial Women’s Union has so far set up 6 affiliates in non-State enterprises with 456 members, contributing to protecting women’s legitimate rights and interests.

Doan Thi Dieu Hien, Chairwoman of provincial Women’s Union said that the birth of Women’s Union locals in non-State enterprises has helped women to get access to necessary information. Through these locals, provincial Women’s Union has been very easy to make dissemination of information regarding the Party and State’s policies and laws among women, aiming to protect their legitimate rights and interests.

Nguyen Phung Trung, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs affirmed that the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Party’s Directive No. 22-CT/TW dated June 5 on enhancing leadership, providing direction for the development of harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations within enterprises has contributed to changing awareness and action of employees and employers.

Particularly, enterprises’ enforcement on labor law has been improved. There have been 90% or 95% of laborers with labor deals; 50% of enterprises with working regulations in accordance with the labor law. Thanks to measures implemented in a synchronous way, the province has also seen a decrease in the number of labor strikes. There were 583 labor strikes reported in the province over the past five years.

And despite difficulties, Trade Union locals in non-State enterprises across the province have still made efforts to generate jobs and take care of laborers’ spiritual and material lives.
