Labor utilization index in state-owned enterprises and FDI enterprises increases

Binh Duong Statistics Department said that the number of workers working in enterprises in October 2023 increased by 1.5% compared to the previous month. Of which, state-owned enterprises increased by 0.6%, non-state enterprises decreased by 1%, and FDI enterprises increased by 1.6%. Labor increased mainly in the processing and manufacturing industries. The production and business situation of industrial enterprises is recovering, many enterprises have received orders and are recruiting more workers. However, production activities of enterprises still face certain difficulties, namely, input material prices, gasoline prices increased sharply, market demand tends to recover but is not stable, inflation pressure adversely affects on the overall labor index of the entire industry.

Accumulated during the first 10 months of 2023, the index of employed workers in industrial enterprises was only 89.7% over the same period last year. Of which, labor in the processing and manufacturing industry reached 89.6%. Some industries had reducing labor rate, such as: food processing, beverage production, apparel, leather production and related products, wood processing and products from wood, bamboo, etc.
