Lac An takes good care of the local people’s lives

Paying attention to building school and traffic works

Thanks to well upholding the motto of “The Party, State and People Work Together”, Lac An commune have reached current achievements. Particularly, the commune now has a primary school with material facilities meeting standards of the Ministry of Education and Training. Its secondary school has so far won the local people’s faith in education and training task.

The local people have felt very delightful when many rural roads were upgraded. In 2013, the commune built and put additional two rural roads into operation with a total length of more than 2,600 meters. The local people also made contributions to upgrading 3 other rural roads with a total expense of more than VND40mln, thereby creating favorable conditions for their traveling and goods transportation to promote homebased business.

In addition, the local authorities at all levels and mass organizations have paid attention to social welfare. Particularly, they over time visited and offered gifts to policy beneficiary families, poor households and near-poor ones on Tet and great holidays; teamed up with relevant agencies to support loans for poor households to build houses, created favorable conditions for poor households and poor-near ones to get loans for economic development…

The commune actively also mobilized funds to activities paying debt of gratitude, supporting the poor and Agent Orange victims; organized delegations to visit and present gifts to disable children, orphans, poor households, poor-near ones; provided free medical check-up for poor households, policy beneficiary families, the disabled; built gratitude and charity houses…

Helping locals stabilize their lives

Over the past time, Lac An commune actively promoted the movement of “Helping each other in economic development” by many practical activities. This contributed to helping many local households stabilize their lives, thereby actively getting involved in the local revolutionary movements.

The family of Nguyen Phi Hung residing in hamlet 4 was a typical example for the above thing. Thanks to the attention and help of the local authorities at all levels and donors, his family was presented a gratitude house. And he used loans to effectively develop the model of breeding chickens, helping his family secure a stable life. He also actively joined the local militia.

Similarly, the local authorities at all level mobilized organizations and donors to build a house of compassion for the family of Pham Van Tuan. His family was also helped get loans from the Bank for Social Policies to develop models on agricultural production. Thanks to this, his family over the past years secured a stable life. He well realized his role as a head of hamlet 4’s Veterans Association branch.

It is known that residents in Lac An commune mainly earn their living by agricultural production. Hence, the commune has also regularly organized seminars on sci-tech transfer in animal husbandry and cultivation; set up cooperatives, made the shift of plant structure…, helping the local residents develop production models and stabilize their lives. As of late 2013,  the average income per capita in the commune reached VND24mln, up 3.98% compared to 2012. The number of the commune’s poor households reduced by 9 or 100% of the district’s target and 200% of the resolution of the communal People’s Council. Currently, the whole commune only has 6 poor households.

Nguyen Huu Phuoc, Secretary of Lac An communal Party Committee said: “In 2014, Lac An commune will strive to get 4 out of 5 hamlets recognized as cultural ones; build a pre-school,  3 roads in residential areas and upgrade a rural road in hamlet 4. The commune will continue well realizing social policies; regularly check the use of poor households’ loans; mobilize organizations and individuals to raise money for the local Fund for the Poor and Child Support Fund; try to fulfill a target of introducing jobs to 150 laborers and reduce the rate of poor households by 30% compared to 2013…”.
